WE BOUGHT A BRAND NEW CHEVY AVEO FROM GM, JUST AFTER ONE WEEK SOMEONE HIT US FROM THE RIGHT SIDE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THE RIGHT DOOR WAS STUCK. MY 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS ON THE REAR SEAT. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE CAR. THE ONSTAR FAILED TO WORK AND EVEN THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY.

SINCE I WAS STUCK WITH MY CELL IN THE POCKET I WAS UNABLE TO CALL EMERGENCY SERVICES. I WROTE TO ONSTAR AND THE THEY GAVE SUCH STUPID ANSWERS. IT IS A TOTAL FAILURE.  I WILL NEVER BUY A GM VEHICLE EVER AGAIN.  SINCE THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION AT NIGHT THE HEAD LIGHTS WERE STILL KEPT  ON AND THE BATTERY WAS WORKING FINE AND ALSO CELLULAR COVERAGE WAS THERE AS IT IS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY.

I HAVE BEEN WRITING TO THEM TO CARRY OUT AN INVESTIGATION AND THEY STILL HAVE NOT GOT BACK. THEIR EMAIL IS SO PATHETIC THAT THEY CANNOT RECEIVE PHOTOS OF THE ACCIDENT AND I HAD TO MAIL IT TO THEN BY SNAIL MAIL. IF THEY CANNOT GET THEIR EMAIL WORKING HOW CAN WE RELY ON THE ONBOARD ONSTAR.

Here's a paragraph from the OnStar Terms of Service

"All OnStar equipped Cars have automatic air bag deployment response that can alert OnStar in a crash where the airbags deploy. Some Cars are equipped with additional crash sensors that can automatically alert OnStar even in crashes where the airbags do not deploy. YOUR CAR HAS TO HAVE A WORKING ELECTRICAL SYSTEM (INCLUDING ADEQUATE BATTERY POWER) FOR THE OnStar Equipment TO OPERATE. You may need to increase the volume of your radio to hear the OnStar system or Advisor. OnStar service may not work if your OnStar Equipment or TTY equipment, if applicable, isnt properly installed (by someone weve authorized) or you havent maintained it and your Car in good working order and in compliance with all government regulations. If you try to add, connect or modify any equipment or software in your Car (such as plugging devices into the vehicle electrical system or diagnostic port, or modifying the OnStar Equipment), the OnStar service may not work and we can terminate your OnStar service. Your OnStar Equipment needs to be compatible with the OnStar service and the wireless service and technology provided by our wireless Service Provider, too. This wireless service and technology is subject to change."

I guess you'll just have to keep pushing for that "Investigation", you want...Let us know how that works out.

If your airbag(s) had indeed deployed in your accident, someone may have been injured by them.
The dash and steering column airbags only deploy on a frontal accident to prevent unnecessary injuries.  Your car was basically hit in the side and all worked as it should.

If you don't understand this, go ahead and be mad at the world for NO REASON whatsoever.

O-o-o-p-s, I'll bet I just told you the same "lies" that OnStar did.

I've got some news for you...

Your air bag is NOT triggered by a side impact and the Onstar isn't triggered unless the airbag is deployed. Read your OnStar agreement and disclaimers...everything worked as designed. Why didn't you press the emergency OnStar button? It's right there on the mirror.  I guess nobody could reach that either.

Why couldn't you get the door on the other slde opened. What's the reason, exactly, you couldn't use your cell phone? What were the "Stupid Answers" OnStar gave you?  Anything like what I've written here? What kind of "investigation" are you demanding?

No, I'm not an employee of OnStar or GM, but my car has the system...it works just fine.

Another idiot making assumptions and not listening to the answers.
