Complaint Review: GMAC MORTGAGE

GMAC MORTGAGE GMAC refunded my monthly payment, with no explanation & numerous hours on the phone. Credit score dropped 80 points. Louisville, Kentucky

GMAC Mortgage refunded my usual monthly payment for August 2009. I didn't notice until I received the next month's bill. Which stated I owed 2 months plus late fees. I called everyday after work for a week and spent 45-60 minutes each night on the phone. I spoke with a different agent everyday, and not one agent had an explanation as to why my check was refunded. Three agents said I have to contact my bank. When they in fact refunded me. I bank online and never had a problem with GMAC's bill or anyone else before this. Still to this day, none of GMAC's agents have any answers.



My lease was up on my vehicle, tried to finance a used vehicle, was rejected by every bank because GMAC single handedly destroyed my credit, from 670 to 580, all 90 points worth.



Then GMAC had basically forced me in to a modification, offering me reduced interest and to forget about the payment they refunded me back in August. I wonder what they reported to Uncle Sam and how much they profited.

Forgot to mention for weeks after the loan modification, I continued to receive notices that I was 3 months past due and in foreclosure. When in fact, the August payment was the only payment not received because they refunded it. Sign me up for any court appearances. Aren't there any hungry attorneys out there to help compensate themselves for our grief & aggravation. Destroyed credit takes an enormous toll not only physically, but mentally it's demeaning.
