I have been living in Florida for over a year and could finally afford to move my things here with me.

Initially, I was met with a very courteous and helpful personnel and with the reasonable rates the company had to offer I decided to schedule a move with GO West Movers on 9/24/05. I had to fly to Virginia to meet the movers and at that time I encountered a very rude driver and two spanish speaking helpers.

The driver, informed me then that because I had certain items in bags that they had to be packed in boxes for shipment and that I had to add the moving boxes and a per person rate to my bill. At $25 a box And $7 PH rate for each man, livid was an understatement!

After questioning this and willfully disagreeing to the external fees , I felt I had no choice but to let them pack those few items and get on with the move. I should have known I was in a state when the driver told the two packers to start dumping my sh** in the boxes in spanish.

I estimated about 1500 to 2000 LBS for the move due to the fact that my furniture was minimal (1)couch, (1)small table w/ 2 chairs, (1)Ent.Center (broken down), (1)corner bookshelf, (2)tv's and (4) speakers, the rest of the items were in boxes. The packers broke the corner unit while I was standing there and I had them put it on the truck anyway with the bottom packed in one of their boxes.

When everything was loaded on the truck the driver suddenly stated that he estimated the items to weigh about 4000 lbs but he was not sure and that it could still be about 1500 lbs of the original estimate. My response was, how that would make each item weigh approximately 85 to 100 lbs and that was ridiculous. It was then that I was informed that the items they packed were to be transferred to another truck and my stomach began to turn, now what am I to do tell them to take it all back off of the truck. I signed the documents and let them go with major contents of my life on their truck and a very lousy gut feeling.

I was called the next Monday and informed that my move was 4100 lbs and now my $856 dollar move has increased to $1,650. This is non-inclusive of the $250 added on for them to pack the few boxes that they did. I was in shock and did not have that amount of money available right then. I tried to delay the move and was informed that it was already on its' way. I called to have it put on a CC and got the complete run around after they agreed to take the payment. I gave them all of the needed information and they called him to confirm the payment and cardholder.

While calling to confirm the payment suddenly nobody wants to answer the phone or return any calls. The next day the truck shows up and I am under the impression that my payment is taken care of. The driver asks for payment and I tell him this was put on a CC already and I am not going to pay it again. He said that the office was closed on Saturdays and left. I called the office and reached the initial dispatcher and immediately asked for the management.

The management turned out to be the worst form of customer service person I have ever encountered. They verified that I was to use a CC and called to verify its' use. They then turned around and tacked on a $350 re-delivery fee and would not make the driver come back that day.

Two weeks later they tried to re-deliver and I was not in the state and scheduled someone to be at my home for the delivery. Again, I informed the driver that this should have been paid for the initial delivery dat and that this should be paid for with only the $350 re-delivery fee to be paid out. It was then that I was informed that I could not get my shipment because I had to pay in cash or money order.

Another two weeks go by and I get another call for a re-delivery date. I informed the driver that I was getting a cashier's check cut that morning and he could make the delivery eary that afternoon. I received a call at approximately 11:30 that morning from the driver stating that he was late for a pickup in NJ and he put my items in storage. Everyday for two weeks I call for a re-delivery date and get a machine every time along with no return calls.

I send e-mails to the company requesting the information and again-nothing returned. I get a call from the driver to again re-deliver my things and all is a go. My cashier's check dated 10/17 was given to them on 11/3 plus a $300 storage fee in cash now this has turned into a $2,800 moving disaster.

When the driver opened the truck my stomach hit the floor, my items were strewn from one end of the 18 wheeler to the other along with garbage and other items. Nothing was strapped down and my couch was on top of fragile items and NOTHING I recieved was in good condition aside from what they packed! The boxes and plastic bins were either crushed, opened and/or missing tops (photos available). I asked the driver about certain boxes and things that I noticed were missing including the corner bookshelf. He stated that that was all that was in the wherehouse when he picked up my items.

Upon going through these boxes I notice that many other things are missing or badly damaged. I am no longer in possesion of my computer which was taken out of a large box and the comforters it was packed in nicely folded and placed back in the box and re-closed, my $500 brand new rollerblades are not here, approximately 200 CD's are gone, at least 10 pairs of my shoes and some pretty expensive suits are missing not to mention the 50 or so DVD's and video games that are also missing.

They ruined my italian coffe table base with too many gouges and scratches to mention as well as my chaise lounge, my entertainment center cannot be put together due to the damage it has incurred and my couch bed will not open due to missing parts and a partially cracked frame. All of this to go along with my broken picture frames, crushed glasses, missing/broken dishes and a glass table top that is now broken in several places and only being held together by the box and blanket it is wrapped in.

As it stands I am too distraught to even finish upacking what I have been so looking forward to doing - re-gaining my life. Understand that I am usually a pretty reasonable person but this cannot go unoticed by any means! I feel beyond violated and can't believe that a bonded company can let this happen to anyone especially an OVER paying customer!!

I even let the drivers' assistant use my restroom and am now missing a bottle of my much needed pain medication. Why am I surprised, can you get any lower than this or am I in another country besides the USA.

I am seeking full restitution of the fees I have paid out plus full coverage for the items damaged and missing approximately 10,000 worth of items and another 10,000 for the ordeal and personal violations.
