GoChemless.com Richard Hill gochemless pool stained brown, Internet
This company claimed that you do not need chemicals to keep your pool clean. If I buy this copper unit from them for 1500. So I did. It came with instruction manual that said so easy a child can install. Ha total lie. I had to call a plumber and an electrician to install this monstrosity. After a week of trying to call for help and speaking with a so called doctor Russell. Which I looked up and he has no doctor degree anywhere in the united states.
Finally get them to give me some sort of help. So I run this contraption for couple of days and find now my pipes have a leak cause I had to cut my existing pipes to fit this thing. Leak fixed now I find that I have to add bromine tabs to my skinner? Umm this is where I get pissed. This is supposed to be a chemical free unit. Uhhh last I checked bromine is a chemical.
So I call and get no help from this so called doctor Russell. Then I get a call back from a guy named Richard Hill this guy tells me that the bromine tabs are used to balance out the pool at first and go ahead and let it run couple more days and it will adjust. So I do now 4 days later my pool walls are brown and black. Not coming off with a metal brush. I need answers so I call this guy Richard Hill and his answer is I installed the unit wrong. So my response is if my installation is wrong come fix it. He just Hung up.
I called and called no reply. I called a local pool company to come and estimate my damage. They say the unit put out so much copper that it permanently stained my walls. And that if I had swam in it I or my family would have some sort of damage to our bodies. Because I wanted to better myself and listen to this website cause of its so called doctor Russell now I have to get my pool re marcited. Please do yourself a favor and do not purchase this unit from Richard Hill of Coral Springs.

Hello there
I had gochemless unit installed about 4 months ago and I am very happy with my decision. I actually enjoy my pool more than ever before!!!! My eyes don't itch and my skin isn't dry any longer. My pool is in great shape, I am saving money, pool service is excellent and when I had a question about the unit my question was immediately addressed. Customer service exceeded my expectation and I wish there are more businesses that besides making money, they are concern about healthier living and ME. I think the unit is very reasonable priced as well as the service, the installation was quick and very professionally done!!!
The quality of the unit, the installation and the most important - health benefit of having GoChemless unit installed greatly exceeds what I paid for, especially knowing that my health has no price tag and whenever comes to healthier ME I am on it. I would absolutely recommend GoChemless to everyone. You will not be disappointed, I promise!!!
One happy GoChemless customer. :)

Both the attempts made here by the company towards damage control are pathetic. The founder's dismissive branding of the person filing the complaint as a 'dissident' doesn't really help the cause. The one positive review also seems to be prompted or a shill entry.
I have been researching chemical free options for a few weeks now and GoChemless seemed promising. Mike, the theory is all good and dandy but the moment you look for independent reviews on google/youtube about this product - guess what is the only thing that appears? Ripoff report! If the *only* internet presence you seem to have is negative and is on ROR, that's not a very good marketing strategy.
Instead of being combative with the complainer you could have drowned out his voice by posting some links of the product at work in the field with real people giving feedback. You are resting on very loose ground if just one voice (fake or otherwise) can cause so much disruption.
Now for some real questions to both parties. Assuming the the upset customer has stained pool walls how likely/unlikely is this? For this to happen I would assume the water would have to be highly conductive to begin with for so much ionization to occur that it would turn the walls brown. Does this mean a lot of chlorine was already in the water (in which case no tablet would be needed to begin with)? Also seems like a lot of copper - almost the entire rod would probably have to disappear.
To the person who filed this report - if you have come to the point of filing a lawsuit, I'm sure you can corroborate with photos. Please post them for us. Mike a time lapse video of a glass tank of algae water (if not a real pool) is all you need to get yourself out the water.

Clearly Jessie and Ashley are from the company. By putting even that little puck in the skimmer is like adding gallons of Chlorine in the pool. This is all information told to me by the company that had to remarcite my pool walls. Thousands in the hole and at this point no one from this horrible company came forward to help.

We love this system! Our pool water sparkles! The product was very easy for my husband to install. As a senior citizens we are always looking for ways to simplify our chores around the house. Everything my husband needed was in the kit. There is an easy to follow instructional video included. We are happy that we no longer have trips to the pool store for the chemicals. No more dragging the heavy jugs from the car to the backyard. What is the big deal about putting a small chlorine tablet into the dispenser once a week? It sure beats the heck out of carrying around the chlorine jugs. You will find that your family will have soft hair, no dry skin and no irritation of the eyes. Thanks Go Chemless!!!

Its clearly stated on their website that you will still have to add chemicals to your pool in order to use this product. They claim that it will reduce your chemical usage by up to 90%. You are not understanding the product clearly.

#8REBUTTAL Owner of company
Mon, January 23, 2012
My name is Michael Self, I am the owner and founder of Go Chemless. I am the inventor of the unit and, along with Dr. Russell Betts, PhD in Organic Chemistry, we created this company and the products it sells.
This fictitious "report" was filed by a disgruntled former partner in the business. Out of respect, I shall not name him in this rebuttal. Nor shall I engage in any tit-for-tat on his statements.
A.P., if you have a problem, my door is open to talk to you about it and has been since you abandoned this project last summer.
Sincerely,
Michael Self, founder & chief engineer
