GODADDY Unauthorized Credit Card charges after cancellation: Modern Thieves Scottsdale Arizona

I ordered 2 domain names and gave them my CC number. When the registration was about to expire I received an email from them telling me to renew. I replied that I did not want to renew.

Godaddy ignored my cancellation, charged my credit card 3 times. Until now (about 1/2 year later no refund).

That's the way how these thieves make business.

Godaddy got greedy

I've used Godaddy.com for my domain for over a year and recommended them to a friend.

The friend mistyped his requested domain. He discovered the mistake a few hours later and called to correct it.

Godaddy Customer Service informed him that he would be charged for the incorrect domain name, EVEN THOUGH THE ORDER HAD NOT YET BEEN PROCESSED. Why should changing the name have been so difficult with an order that had not even yet been processed? Customer Service told him that his only recourse was to pay for the mistyped domain name and pay again for a new one with the correct name. They refused his request to cancel his (unprocessed) order and simply make a new order.

I encouraged him to dispute the charges when they came and force a chargeback to godaddy. In any case, godaddy's abysmal handling of this simple request has cost them any further referrals, and at least the future business of us two customers. It makes no sense to charge for domain name that will never be used, especially when the customer caught the mistake before the order had even been processed and requested the correction. (Well, it DOES make sense -- godaddy got greedy!) If you order the wrong shirt from an apparel company, you return/exchange it. Not so with godaddy!
