Goddard advertizes training and competency in a Sexual Orientation Psychology Master's Degree. As a 49 year old transwoman, I experienced nothing but barriers getting support do do my practicum in a q***r friendly enviroment. When troubles arose on practicums because of my transsexualism or for other reasons, the school did not intervene and I was eventually dismissed after finishing my thesis material. Many adult ( over 40) learners I attended this program with in several states, got no support for viable internships and were dismissed, or their degree is not recognized for licensure in their states.
I took the school to court with the Vermont Human Rights Commission in January of 2112, and Goddard College was defiant in describing how they felt I did not do my diligence and that they were not required to do theirs. I did not win my case with the state HRC because of anti-trans discrimination, but I did make a strong statement about how myself and others continue to be ripped off and not supported in their college work. I do not recommend this program, and hope an online record is made with regard to Goddard College Psychology and Counseling Program Sexual Orientation Concentration.
