Gogo Inflight offers a daily or monthly "unlimited" service. It appears that many consumers misconstrue as "one month,"  - not "forever," including myself.   I purchased one month in September 2012 on a Virgin America flight. Gogo must be aware of this because consumers on frequent flyer forums and here on Rippoffreport.com are complaining about this non-intutive (purposefully?) unclear, "legal" scam practice.

According to their customer service, the ("hidden") recurring charges are supposedly outlined in the 'Terms' on the receipt that you receive AFTER the fact (most likely sent to the "junk email address that you probably used and not checking very often), but this is not clearly outlined (indeed, it is most likely hidden), at the point of sale. There is 'no opt' in to save your credit card credentials when you are making the purchase, thus, I did not think the service was saving my card - they should tell you that they are storing your credit card and make it very clear that the $39.99 per month will be charged indefinitely.  Also, I have searched my email (which has not been vetted for years) and I have received no statements or any communication from Gogo Inflight.  $249. 70 (they raised the monthly price to $44.95 with no warning/communication also!!)

I rarely use the credit card charged (I have many for my business), and have only discovered the 6 months of fees (not including the 1 month I wanted to pay for) until now, at tax time.

On their web site, they make it very difficult to find a toll free help phone #. After live chatting with "Ana" she informed me that they could only reimburse 1 month. She would request 4 months - but this was not guaranteed.

I would suggest avoiding giving your credit card credentials to this unethical, borderline scam, company (or using them at all if you can avoid their monopoly).  If they continue to treat their customers in this manner they are very likely to go out of business soon anyway, but wished to warn you!
