This was a liquidation sale held at the Bangor auditorium in Maine. I did a google search and found that this company does this across the country at other civic centers as well. There was a television commercial advertising this sale, with $8 coffeemakers, $10 grills, etc.. I checked the civic center's website, where it said it would be $5 for admission. I checked it just a couple of hours before the sale began. I arrived, and admission was really $6! Once I got home I checked online again and it was changed to $6.

Inside the sale was a joke. It was a glorified lawnsale and did NOT have the things on the commercial that I was looking for. The coffeemakers they showed on the commercial for $8 were really $10, and they had no grills at all. My fiance and I paid $12 to get in and find out they did not have what they advertised having!!

Gold Expression is renting the building and is the one who charges for an admission fee to enter their sale. The venue does not have anything to do with the charges at the door, nor any of the defective products that are sold during the sale. The companies that put on these liquidation sales have signs all over the box office that display: Admission $6.00 & "No Refunds on tickets". Jessica was right on who charge her the money(Gold Expressions), but I have a problem with paying to shop(paying to spend my money).

You Weren't Ripped Off!

Jessica, Gold Expressions didn't rip you off because you said you didn't buy anything from them. You were charged $12 admission by the venue, the Bangor Auditorium. They charged admission so they could maintain the facility and provide cleaning crews, etc. If you were not satisfied by your experience within the Auditorium, you should have made your complaint to the management of the Bangor Auditorium. Now if you BOUGHT anything from Gold Expressions, and you weren't happy - THEN you might have been ripped off, but that's a whole 'nuther story.
