Try to Cancel your membership in Oakdale. Go ahead just try. I have been given the run around for 6 months. They have drained our accounts. I have jumped through every hoop they told me I needed to do to get this cancelled and still they lie, mislead and give me a run around. They stolen hundreds of dollars from me.

Just who owns this company? They say come in and fill out a form to cancel. I did. then all of a sudden they take money from my account and tell they don't have the form. They say send a letter. I send 5 letters. They say we didn't get them. They say send them certified. I send 5 letters certified. They say they didn't get them. They tell me to call customer service and give me a number. customer service says they logged into Oakdale's computer system and Oakdale says they did not get the certified letters. I say.. I have receipts I am stopping any further withdrawl from my account. They say we will turn you into collections if you can't produce the receipts and take them to Gold's gym in Oakdale. I print the receipts and call customer service again to tell them I have the reciepts however because I am disable and ill I can not go to the gym can I email my proof to customer service. They say. no we are the billing company only Gold's Gym in Oakdale can cancel your membership. I call Gold's Gym in OaKdale and John the manager says sorry didn't get the letters I say. Yes I have proof. Can I email them to you so you will cancel my membership. He tells me no I can't cancel the membership because customer service has to do it. Mr. Wall informs that I need to bring my proof to him. I tell I am disabled 100% and very ill at this time. I can't bring them to him. He says cant you have someone else bring them to me. I say no can't you give me an email address to send them to you. He says no. You have to bring them in so I can give them to the corporate office. I say can you give me the phone number for your corporate office. He says no i don't know it. I say you just told me you know how to contact them he says no we have a secret courier that picks up our stuff and delivers it. Why would I take my only proof that I have jumped through a million hoops to cancel my account to a man who will throw them away like they did when we filled out the cancellation form, the other letters and the certified letters. He finally gives me his email address.

They are liars and they are thieves any company who can not give you their bosses address doesn't deserve to be in business. I have stopped any more withdrawals from my bank account. If they want to take me to collections go ahead. get in line. I have proof you people are liars. It is so sad this town I grew up in and lived in for 55 years has a company that is lying to all of its residents. That is why Oakdale never really like big business in their town. It use to be such a nice family honest town and then Gold's Gym arrived.

Gym contracts have become the used car deals of the 21st century.   They are notoriously difficult to get out of unless you do one thing.

I have jumped through every hoop they told me I needed to do to get this cancelled and still they lie, mislead and give me a run around.  "

That's exactly the wrong thing.   The only thing that governs this issue is the contract that you signed.   In that contract, it will tell you what you need to do to get out of the contract.   That is what you need to do and you need to follow it to the letter.    If it involves sending written notice, send it registered with return receipt requested (so you have proof).

Forget about what they tell you.   What some gym employee tells you has absolutely no bearing on the written contract.    The written contract is what you agreed to and is legally binding.  If you do what the contract states and they still don't stop, then you have grounds to sue them.
