On June 6th 2016 I was contacted By "Gold Medal Service" via my home warranty company for an A/C problem. Frank arrived and diagnosed the problem to be : Upstairs Zone Control not working". The remedy was a "Honeywell 16ins. electronic control valve" a Zone control regulator. He then quoted  a total charge of $609.80, which I accepted. He returned on June 7th 2016 to fix the problem. When he arrived I personally imspected the new part, even looking inside the box containing the new part. It was NOT a 16ins. Honeywell zone controller. In fact it was a Honeywell Damper actuator, part number MB47D. I checked the price of the part on line and the genuine article can be obtained anywhere between $75.00 - $126.

 Frank spent exactly 20 mins. in my loft installing the unit. It is extremely easy to instal a damper. I checked via "You tube".  I could have easily installed the unit.  However Frank stated on my invoice #002426  6/07/2016 that he fitted a "Zone control regulator". That was a lie. He was obviously trying to substantiate the heavy charge.  When I queried this he stated the unit was $274.00. No it was not.

The genuine actual damper can be bought locally for around $100.00 plus 20mins installation time. So I eventually paid $480.61 which represents about $380.00 for 60mins. work ( 20mins labor plus 40mins collecting the item).

That is gouging to the extreme. Frank lied about the part required and inflated the labor charge. I did report this all to the company on 6/16/2016 but of course they ignored me. Do NOT use GOLD MEDAL SERVICES. They WILL rip you off.
