Complaint Review: Gold Plaza Jewelers Forestville Md

My fiance bought an engagement ring from them to present to me on Christmas 2014. Overjoyed and proud, I accepted it. couple of weeks later, while at work, I noticed that the crown was missing. The whole top of the ring was gone. I went back to Gold Plaza Jewelers and the man said they could take care of it. Asked me to go pick another diamond out and I did. Then he tells me that it will cost me for the stone and the repair was an additional charge. Outraged!!! "Well you lost it and have to pay to get another.  how do I know you didn't sell it and you're trying to get over". 

I didn't understand why I had to pay and they sold him a piece of crap in the first place. I went across the hall to Kay Jewelers and asked the salesmen about it. He said, if the ring is welded properly it isn't suposed to break off if it's actually 14k white gold.

I sent my fiance up there to talk to a manager/owner, that ended up being an arguement. We still have the band as a reminder to not go cheap. You really do get what you pay for and we are out a couple thousand dollars.

Very unprofessional and greedy. They just want your money and don't care what happens after that. I don't imagine they have alot of repeat customers
