I recently signed up for GoldbarOne from www.goldbar.net which is advertised as an all-in-one autoresponder, shopping cart and internet marketing system. Before signing up for the service I found a few blog posts saying the service was subpar but they were dated in 2005 so I decided to give them a shot.

After only a few minutes of setting up with the GoldbarOne system I kept finding problem after problem. Every feature I went to setup had a problem that required submitting a Bug Request and spending valuable time trying to explain the problem to an Indian software guy who could barely write in English. I should note that I am an experience web developer myself so these aren't beginner issues.

After working through the initial issues I finally got my first Goldbar autoresponder setup. With a previous email delivery system I saw 95% of newsletter signups verify their email address once they opted in. With the Goldbar system this number dropped to just over 60%. Needless to say after repeated communication about this problem nothing was done and I lost hundreds of subscribers and likely thousands of dollars.

After only three weeks using the system it was clear that this alone was enough reason to find another system. In addition Goldbar.net never fixed a few of the other bugs that would greatly stunt the ability to run multiple websites. Their shopping cart design is also very obtrusive and drives interested customers away as it looks like it was developed by a 12 year old.

When I attempted to cancel the Goldbar representatives were very rude and wouldn't process the refund before the next monthly charge went through. I attempted to get a refund since I have already moved everything off their system and won't use anything for the month charged. After a few rude emails from Goldbar they still are unwilling to be professional.

If you are in search of a system look somewhere else besides www.goldbar.net and their GoldbarOne system, unless of course you want a bad system that will steal your money and cost you even more in lost sales.

Stay away from these frauds...

I am very sorry this gentleman received unwanted mail from one of our customers however I must insist that it is incorrect and quite libelous to call our COMPANY a spammer. We are an email service provider. This means that other customers sign on to use our email servers to send email to their mailing lists, all of which have been thoroughly checked by our employees to determine if the list source is legitimate.

Goldbar Enterprises, LLC has ALWAYS complied with ALL email laws and best practices. We have feedback loops setup with ALL ISPs (which allow us to automatically remove every complaint) and we take every complaint and unsubscribe seriously - our business longevity and email delivery depends on it.

We are NOT, nor have we ever been spammers or allowed spammers on our service.

We have multiple ways to remove yourself from a mailing list, this is the first time someone has used a public "ripoff" complaint forum to do so.

We will make sure that this subscriber NEVER receives email from our servers again.

I encourage ALL readers to make up their own minds on whether it makes sense to complain about an unwanted email on a "ripoff" forum.

If this person would like to speak to me personally regarding this, I would be happy to talk to him and explain how our service works, how he could remove himself in the future from ANY mailing list that HE signed up for and how to avoid receiving unwanted email from any service.

I have received several spam emails from his company all which ask me to be a beta-test which I can make $52,173 in cold hard cash.

I have never been to his website nor have I asked to receive any type of offers from his company.  Below, you find the email header that I have copied for you to see.  BTW, gbresponder.com belongs to Goldbarone along with his IP address.  I have tried to unsubscribe several time with no results.

Mr. Goldman, stop sending me your spam.

Very Pleased with Product and Service

I am very pleased to write this letter of rebuttal/endorsement for Goldbar.net.
Our company design websites for non-profit and membership associations.I was assigned to work to projects with the company and as a high end web designer it's a pleasure working with such a company with such great ethics, professionalism.

The company has demonstrated its unparallel commitment to customer value. How? Well, as I mentioned I am a high end web developer and found myself overwhelmed with the amount of work needed to complete our project.

I received a call from Goldbar.net tech support; the person had a foreign accent he asked me if there is anything he can do to help me with my project. I was very surprised but agreed. The tech support ADIL jumped right in and helped me do most of the back end work. He shared my pc and completed demonstrated what he was doing over three hours. They are so current with Technology that I am getting tech support through Skype and Instant Messenger (MSN).

I have received consistent communication and updates from the Global sales manager Rizwan.

Goldbar.net is no way a rip-off. The company is a unique application designed for business to maximize their potential all in one place. Instead of using several online companies to get your business properly positioned online, they offer it all in one place. SEO, Membership, Referral, Affiliate, Blog, RSS, Build your site, Membership payment integration, Membership management, auto responder and more.

I am awaiting their new release which comes with a more integrative setting.
There is no contract, you don't like the service---you can cancel anytime.
I have recommend Goldbar.net to several clients/partners and they too are enjoying the benefits of the service.

Let me add, GoldBar is totally unaware of this letter.

My name is Shane Stone, General Manager & Owner of SMS Enterprise LLC. I am writing in response to Jeff Daniel's complaint about Goldbar and for the purpose of providing a rebuttal of Mr. Goldman's heated response. Mr. Daniels was an independent contractor of my company hired to handle mostly the SEO efforts of the websites of the company and our clients, yet being a small company he is privy to the goings-on of the entire company. Just this week my company has severed ties with Mr. Daniels due to many incidents of insubordination and failing to follow company procedure and protocol. During the exit interview Mr. Daniels informed us of his filing of this complaint without consent of upper management. Although we did discontinue our relationship with Goldbar for issues related to the functionality and implementation of their system with ours I sincerely apologize for the tone and manner by which Mr. Daniels represented the complaint. It was my intention to handle the issue through other private means with no intention to bring a dispute of such minute consequence to the attention of the public.

Without going into unnecessary detail I would like to address some of Mr. Goldman's responses. Simply doing a Whois search and possibly a Secretary of State search will not detail the structure of a company, nor the parties involved. The majority of Mr. Goldman's comments regarding my company are inconsequential and the true figures are a private matter, however the unfounded claims of falsified testimonials and repeatedly questioning my creditability are unwarranted. The integrity of my company, business associates, partners and staff will always be at the forefront of importance and anyone that fails to follow such a code of conduct will be released, as was the case with Mr. Daniels. I wish Mr. Goldman and his company the best of luck and once again apologize for the response of a former business associate.

Lastly, I would also like to respond to Mr. Goldman's final statement affirming the fact the $59.95 was understandingly refunded.

Goldbar Enterprises Responds to & Exposes: Jeff Daniels, Simon Cowell, Shane Stone?

Dear Readers of Ripoff Report,

My name is Marc Goldman (that is my real, legal name since birth). I am the co-owner and CEO of Goldbar Enterprises, LLC. Our company is currently based in Miami Beach, Florida.

As you can see I am responding to the report made by "JDaniels" AKA "Jeff From Atlanta, GA".

Whenever a company doing business does well for themselves, there are always people who come out of the woodwork to complain and make accusations of impropriety but as an educated consumer, one must have all the facts of the case before making a decision based on it.

Before I responded to this case, my team and I searched our database for any Jeff or Daniels from Atlanta, GA.

We have never had ANY customer named JDaniels or Jeff.

We have, however had a Shane Stone who has been filing similar complaints since the 7th of June with other agencies such as the Better Business Bureau.

Here are the facts of his dispute:

Mr. Stone signed up for our system on May 8th, 2008. At the time of his order, he agreed to our Terms of Service (which clearly state that there are no refunds but one can cancel ANYTIME before their next billing period).

4 days earlier, Mr. Stone signed up for our affiliate program under an assumed name (Simon Cowell quite original eh?) and then signed up for his own GoldbarOne account under his affiliate id effectively giving himself a commission on his own account every single month.

Now, our program doesn't prevent this action from taking place but it is a fairly unethical thing to do and one that most legitimate affiliates frown upon.

Mr. Stone had submitted multiple bug reports (as Jdaniels reported above). Any of these reports that were legitimate, were responded to in full and fixed.


However, contrary to his claims above, many of his bug reports were either issues with inexperience using our system or, issues with Mr. Stones own computer & or with his email client.

(For example he claims the verification hyperlink in our verification emails was not clickable. This is a known issue with email clients that are set to use Text ONLY not a mixture of text or html).

One would think that such an experienced developer as Mr. JeffD (Stone?) claims to be would know to look for such options.

Anyway, I digress.

Mr. Stone (Jeff etc) opened a bug report about our ad tracking and split testing system. Our team could not duplicate the error he experienced and so asked him to elaborate.

Instead of responding, Mr. Stone cancelled his account but did so ONLY after he was rebilled.

I will also point out that Mr. Stone (Jeff) called our staff some Indian Support guy who could barely write in English. This is simply racist and defamatory and cannot be tolerated. Our staff is NOT Indian and even if they were, Mr. Stones comments are openly bigoted and hateful and demonstrate a lack of human decency.

The fact is my staff, no matter where they are from, tried to help Mr. Stone (as they do all customers) and he would have received help if he had simply been patient and practiced the slightest bit of tolerance and followup.

As a matter of fact, I thought I would paste herein some of the comments from our customers on our support staff. These are recent survey responses to our support desk requests, are permanently on file at our company and can be verified by ANYONE who asks:

Finally, Mr. Jeff (Stone) says that he lost thousands of dollars in sales by using our system. I logged into his account and he has NEVER had ONE sale! Our system is famous for the ability to capture even attempted orders (allowing for followup and saving sales) however, he does not have ANY of those either.

I also take issue with his comments on our website design. I will admit, there are issues with the shopping cart design which will be addressed on a new release this summer. However, I take a look at the site Mr. Stone (Jeff) referred to in all his bug reports to Goldbar:

From a design standpoint, I don't think Mr. Stone (whose company is credited with the design of said site) is qualified to comment on anyones website design skills.

However, in looking deeper at this site, there is another page entirely which may allow you, dear reader, to have even more of an insight into Mr. Shane Stone of SmS Enterprises:

as you can see on this page, he lists many testimonials without full names or contact information. I wonder if he could provide actual full details of said customers.

PS Even though we do not give refunds, Mr. Stone was given a refund on June 17th, 2008 for his $59.95. So as you can see, everything he has to say is without merit.

PSS Mr. Jeff as of June 18th, 2008 has sent harassing emails to our staff demanding a refund even though, as stated above, the refund was already issued.
