Golden Corral Has Lost its Glitter

The Golden Corral restaurant in Boynton Beach has become one of the sleaziest run dining experiences ever. First, their published site states that senior Dinners are $8.69, and senior Lunches are $6.19. To seniors on a limited budget, the attraction is obvious.

But upon our arrival, the prices mysteriously jumped to $11.09 and $7.99, respectively. When we complained about their deceptive prices, management blamed it on their website.  I guess, then, its our fault that they dont keep to their published prices.

Oh, and dont bother to check out their newest attraction, their Seafood Grill. For a buffet, the portions are fit only for a rabbit.  Longer lines, fewer portions (they actually made their plates SMALLER), and rude management staff are now part of the total experience.

This used to be a great place when it opened a few years back, but its changed, and the change is TERRIBLE.

As a side note, their DM, Mr. Robert Chester, had promised to offer some degree of compensation for what had been expected to be a pleasant dining experience, but was in fact, just the opposite--he stonewalled instead, muttering something about theyre not being held responsible.

This was a fine place a few years back, but its changed, and the change is TERRIBLE.

Thank you Mr. Chester, for shirking your responsibility.  We hope Mr. Ted Fowler and Mr. Peter Charland think of this when it comes time to replace you.

How a buffet works

In these hard financial times almost everything is going up in price.  An all you can eat buffets are no different.  Additionally I went through their entire site and found no place mentioning prices at all.  This is typical for restaurant chains that are franchised out.  This is because they can have different pricing from location to location.  That is just how franchises work.  They do not have prices set in stone by corporate.

As for you complaints about lines, I'm sorry but this is an extremely busy all you can eat buffet.  I've been to this location numerous times and it is always full of people.  How do you not expect there to not be lines at a buffet?  Those people wish to eat as well.

In regards to the smaller plates.  Once again it is an all you can eat buffet.  You may get up and have more if you wish.  The size of the plate does not mandate you to only eating a certain amount in your a whole visit.  If you are still hungry you can get up and get more.  No one is stopping you from that.

I understand you are probably a senior by your posting about the senior prices.  And you may say that standing for long periods of time or continually getting up and sitting down is difficult.  I understand that is certainly true.  But you must know that there are certain things to come and expect from a buffet.  There will typically be a lot of people there and you will be getting up and down to get more food.  Just the way it works.  I'm not trying to be mean but be logical.  Buffets have been around a very long time and Golden Corral is not doing anything different from other ones.
