BUYER BEWARE-

GOLDEN ROMANCE KENNEL- ANA RADOVANOVIC

 

On May 29, 2020, I agreed to purchase a 15-month-old female (Mirage) from Ana Radovanovic for the sum of $7000.00. This included shipping. By June 2, 2020 the full amount had been sent to her.

I have been a reputable breeder of golden retrievers for many years and even had previously purchased puppies from Ana without incident previously.

 

Note from Ana on 6/11/2020, “Sorry, running around for breeding. I am in contact with shipper every day. Last info I got on Monday is that we can start with shipping from 20th this month. I do hope we will definitely start now. Will keep you posted for every info I get.”

 

There were some challenges related to COVID in terms of shipping and delays. This was understandable.

 

 Note from me on 9/7/20, “Hi Ana, Hoping for some news about shipping. In the meantime, can you take some nice photos that I can use on my website? I'm working on that at the moment and it would be helpful to feature Mirage. It would be great to have something in the next few days. Would also like a straight on head shot from the front. I'm having some digital head drawings done and that would be most helpful!”

 

No photos came!

Another breeder informed me that the female I reserved and had paid for in full had been shipped to a different buyer in Canada. How could this be possible!

 

Note from me on 2/12/21 “Hi Ana, Just checking to see what your plan is for our girl. Do you still have her? Perhaps you want to return the $7000.00 to us. We don't want to lose any of this money, so it would be important that we be sent back $7000.00 in USD. Let me know if that is what you would like to do. I am ok either way...this has just taken too long. I understand things are more difficult with COVID, but others have figured out how to do it. Please let me know right away. I want to resolve this. It is a lot of money.”

 

4/8/21 from Ana, “Hi Tom, sorry was busy. If i don't manage to organise shipping in next 2 weeks, will send back 7000usd. It is better situation here now.”

 

No shipment, no money returned!

 

5/31/21 to Ana, “Hi Ana, I have been very kind to this point. I have discovered at least 6 people you either owe money or a dog to. We cannot afford to throw $7000.00 away. Please make arrangements to refund our money right away...since you no longer have the female for us that you promised. So sorry it has come to this. You have had some very nice dogs and have the ability to be an amazing breeder.”

 

6/7/21 from Ana, “Tom, I told you I will be sending back your money asap. I don't know exact date yet. Will try to send you by 16th before you go to Latvia.”

 

Nothing sent.

 

7/7/21 from Ana, “Hi Tom, sorry, was delivering. Will go in day or two in bank. Keep you posted.”

 

Nothing sent.

 

9/5/21 from Ana, “I'm here. My first pups leaving on 21th. By then will have the money, don't worry.”

 

Nothing sent.

 

1/28/22 A different female offered by Ana. I expressed a willingness to take another female instead of the money.

 

No dog. No money.

 

In the meantime, our adopted son had leukemia and was in the hospital for months, including a bone marrow transplant. Tragically, he passed away on 4/13/23. Ana was aware of this and did nothing to resolve the issue with the money she owed us.

 

2/11/23, from Ana,  “Monday morning my time Tom. You will have it before you wake up. By the way, always welcome to come.”

 

2/16/23 from Ana, “Tom, I know I am late. But I am sending. I just can't do it until Monday because of national holiday. Pls cheq online, banks, postoffices and exchange offices not working until Monday.”

 

No money sent.

 

3/27/23 from Ana, “Tried 3 times today. System was not working and i tried on 3 different places.”

 

4/7/23 Ana sent $200.00. Balance is $6800.00.

 

4/11/23 Ana sent, “Day after tomorrow, when i get back from Andreea will send you 800$. That is maximum I can send in 1 day as they have limit per day.”

 

More promises, no follow through.

 

8/25/23 from Ana, “Think will be able to do today afternoon. But Tom i can't do entire amount today. I will send you all asap but today 2000.”

“No, 2000 on your way. It should be on your account you gave me last time in about 2 working days.”

 

Many more messages and promises over the next year…same pattern.

 

Nothing else sent as of 10/17/24.

 

I’ve hesitated to post this experience as it is not my approach. I have been super patient but strung along with false and broken promises. I have heard of others who have also been cheated. They don’t publish their experience because they are still breeding goldens. We are no longing breeding and only have one retired female as a pet.

 

$7000 was stolen from me and my family by Ana Radovanovic. This is money we could not afford to lose. She has paid back a total of $200.00 in 4 ½ years. Her dozens of promises have all be broken.

 

I hope Ana will make a decision to become an honest breeder again. If you know Ana, can you help me get this resolved?

We are adopting two orphan girls into our family. Finances are tight. I see Ana’s post attending shows across Europe, spending money that is rightfully ours.

 

Until Ana decides to act with integrity, I would encourage you to look elsewhere when purchasing a golden retriever.
