Dont buy a Goldstar microwave ( LG Electronics Inc. )
I purchased the over the counter microwave back in Dec. of 2001 for my wife as a christmas gift. On July 9th of 2002 it quit working. I called the service center since it has 1 year parts and one year labor, with in home service. Well supprice number one. there is no service center near me. The only place is 45 min away. So since they dont pay shipping charges I have to deliver it myself without riembursement.

To shorten this up some, I have been in contact with the service center who authorized the work and the service center, as well as the manufacture of the unit so many times that I have almost lost track. ( almost ). 8 weeks they have had my microwave now and it isnt any closer to being fixed than the day I droped it off. The same old story is give, " we are waiting for the main board from the manufacture". The manufacture says "we shipped it".
Enough!!!!! Just give me my microwave.
Good news though, I called the store I purchased it from, LOWES, and told them about the problems. I just wanted to see if they could put some pressure on them. You know, fix it or we wont sell your line anymore type of pressure. But instead they said bring the microwave back and they will give me a new one and they will deal with goldstar.

I just hope they wont take the rap for the crappy service gold stare gives. Pass the buck back to where it should be.

Purchasing the most inexpensive appliance you can find is not always the best choice but everyone learns the hard way. How about purchasing an AMERICAN brand microwave? American manufacturers generally keep functional parts in stock (in the UNITED STATES anyhow). Had you purchased your appliance from a servicing dealer instead of a discount warehouse that tries to sell everthing your microwave problem would probably have already been solved.
