I had hired Goldstar Vanlines in June 2006 to assist with my move from Moreno Valley, CA to North Miami, FL. They arrived on July 3rd to pick up my belongings. On July 28th I made a complaint to the Better Business Bureau since I had not yet received my belongings and the communication from Goldstar Vanlines was poor regarding the status of those items.

They finally delivered on August 8th, 2006. Actually, they had hired a subcontractor based in Florida to deliver my items. The delivery person said he was not affiliated with Goldstar Vanlines, that he worked for another moving company.

All boxes were accounted for, I counted 39. As I began to open the boxes, I noticed that one of the boxes contained items that were not mine, and that they had created another box and had put an armoire I owned in it. Two of my boxes of clothing are missing, as well as my Vacuum Cleaner. The clothing that were in the boxes are very valuable, including a $600.00 jacket (brand name Raw), $300.00 jeans (brand name True Religion), 2 $300.00 dresses (brand names Max Studio) and countless other articles of clothing that are irreplaceable.

After calling Goldstar Vanlines regarding the missing boxes, they at first said not to file a claim, and then after my husband called them they told me to file a claim. They also gave me a veiled threat to not try and locate my boxes if I did not retract my complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Please assist me in locating my boxes. I am distraught over this, and do not have the financial means to buy all new clothes. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me.

Still no clothes. BBB is no help whatsoever, and Goldstar offered me only $140.00 to settle the claim. I am now taking them to small claims court, and am considering contacting the newspaper in San Jose, California. They may be very interested to print a story regarding the abusive behavior Goldstar has directed at me. They lie, are very sarcastic, and they knowingly will not give me my boxes back. I will not stop until I am given fair treatment.

Goldstar still doen't know where my property is

I just received a call from Goldstar Vanlines on 8/21 wondering when they could schedule FedEx to pick up the box from the unknown person(s) that was left with me in lieu of my own property. Not once did they mention the loss of my own items or give an update, the manager had the nerve to ask how I was doing.

How do they think I'm doing? I still have no clothes! I have filed a claim and made several complaints to different agencies regarding their handling of my property and this case in general.

Goldstar professes to be extra concerned with their standards of "customer service". If so, they would have had the decency to mention how the search for my belongings was going.
