Good housekeeping seal Hearst Co Failed to honor a defective product warranty as advertised New York, New York
Leafguard sold us a gutter system, we were inform installation was (no charge) free if we purchase their system. Aside from all the issues w/Leafguards substandard installation our complaint is currently w/the Good Housekeeping Seal and their deceptive policies.
We filed a Good Houskeeping Seal complaint related to Leafguard faulty design and operation as claimed w/in the 2 year limit.
The seals web site states they will refund the full purchase price if we prove the system is proven defective in material and workmanship w/in 2 years of purchase.
We proved w/out a doubt the Leafguard system is defective in design and workmanship. The Seal sent us confirmation of this in writing. We paid about $8k for what we got. The Seal sent us about $1600 and made a comment on the letter, and we quote The Good Housekeeping Research institute's Engineering Department has decided to refund you the adjusted price of the product for the LeafGuard gutters.
Why reduce the price of the product? We understood it was the FULL price of the product. Not a small % of the price of the product.
We had an attorney review the letter and Leafguard contract who agreed with this customers understanding of the matter. The attorney sent the Seal a letter per their findings. The Seal pulled the ignorance card. No response. The GH Seal attempted delivery of payment some time in March of 2011. It was never received or cashed.
Avoid Leafguard and be careful of Good Houskeeping
