good life media, Good Life Publishing, GT Publications Deceptive advertizing practices for local golf courses Delray Beach Florida
I was contacted around August 1st 2013 in regards to advertizing in a local golf magazine in Tampa Bay Florida. I have previously advertized my services with the Golf Almanac with no problems. This was a different publishing company from the previous one I used. He offered me an add in the magazine for $300.00 I was not able to do that amount. He called back numerous times with a lower cost. We finally settled on $250.00 Brett said the add set up and design was inluded in the cost and he would have his design team email me a proof for my approval.
I then received a call from Brett on Aug. 8th 2013 letting me know that payment didn't go through, I called him back at the number he left. I told him to cancel it as I was over my limit. The next day a charge of $209.99 was put through on my credit card. I called my card company to ask what the charge was for as i did not recognize the amount. They told me the first attempt of $250.00 didn't go through but this amount did, which was all I had left on my limit. At that time I did not dispute the charge but waited to receive the email. I never received one and the number Brett gave me to call was no longer a valid number.
I contacted my Credit card company after doing research and found this site. Upon reading the other accounts of fraudulent activity I filed a dispute which my credit card is now handling.
Unfortunatly I will not ever advertise with the Golf clubs again due to this experience. Unless it is with them directly. I urge consumers to check out references when dealing with phone soliciters for any services before giving out their credit card number. Always use a credit card for payment as they will back you up and fight for your rights not to be ripped off.
