This letter was sent to GOODYEAR CORPORATE...I have been going to Goodyear since I moved to Indianapolis 3 years ago.I have spent well over one thousand dollars there for services. The Goodyear store I'm refering to is located at 4570 S.Emerson Ave. Indianapolis IN. 317-787-0111.I have had 3 problems due to their incompetance in the last year.Today i had a broken serpintine belt replaced the service manager Brent told me it was guarenteed for life. When I arrived home I looked at the broken belt and it was a GOODYEAR belt! I could read the logo and the sku and part number,it also had Gatorback stamped on it clearly.I also noticed a sound like air rushing out like air brakes on a truck but thought it was from the traffic around me.I did call Brent up when I discovered the belt was Goodyear and he said that they didn't put it in the vehicle. What difference does that make? It's a Goodyear belt clearly marked. So he said there was nothing he could do$100.Also after I left the shop I noticed that when I made a right hand turn the front end rumbled. It did NOT do that when I brought it there. When I mentioned it to Brent he quickly said he didn't do anything but change the belt.Brent was right about one thing he didn't do any work because he was standing behind the desk the entire time the vehicle was being worked on.How does he know that the mechanic might have made an error.2 weeks ago I brought in my Toyota truck because my engine warning light was on.The mechanic informed me that it was an O2 sensor. So I asked him to replace it.This was on a saturday.Sunday morning I started my truck up and the engine warning light came on again.I called Goodyear they told me to bring my truck back and they replaced the sensor and said the first one was bad$200.My wife was having a problem with her hood not shutting completly due to the cold weather. She pulled into Goodyear and asked if someone could take a look at it and see what was wrong. She did tell Brent she would pay.But he told her that they were too busy and couldn't help her.So she drove home with a partially closed hood because of Brent's attitude. What would have happened if the hood flew up while she was driving and she got involved in an accident???I do know 1 thing Brent would have gotten a trip to the accident room for getting a beating.I did call Brent and told him I was going to buy a set of 4 Goodyear Wranglers for my Toyota. But due to his nonchalant attitude,I would go elsewhere. He didn't care so I went to TIRE BARN and spent $900 there for my tires.I'm a Navy SEAL I have always done things honestly and with integrity. Also I'm a manager at Home Depot so I know quite a lot about customer service.I do have a Goodyear credit card which I'm going to pay off and cancel.A I have totally lost faith in Goodyear and the business ethics of this establishment. Our practice at Home depot is NO MATTER WHAT the customer leaves satisfied.
