I received a letter in the mail stating I won the lottery from a consumer rewards program. my number were drawn may 16, 2008 and the amount of the prize was $ 38,000.

a long with the letter i received a check for $ 3950.00 and this was to cover the taxes and call the number on the letter to claim my prize. well i called the number and asked for the people on the letter Adam Dickson or Leora King. they told me to deposit the check and call them back on monday.

i verified the check with the bank it was draw from Well Fargo in San Fransico, ca.

then went and deposit the check. i also spoke with my bank before this and they said it was ok to deposit but not spend any money until the bank verified the check was legal. I called the number back 1-905-781-0268 and told them i deposited the check. they told me to get the $ 3950.00 from the bank right away and go to walmart and send a money gram to CHarles Standard in atlanta, ga.

the next step i took was calling the bank again letting them know this is a very big scam and the check maybe real but a fraud or stolen check.

please anyone who reads this don't send money or give any info to them.
the letter has the following info.
