I was a long term (4-5 yr) customer of Alarm billing services.  I elected to upgrade my service to another company for more features.  My contract with Alarm Billing Services allowed a refund for cancelation, with the stipulation that the discounted long term rate would be increased to reflect the full monthly rate.  

My first contract expired, and I was not notified that it had expired, so when I called to ask why the increased rate I was informed that I had not renewed so service was month to month.  I re-upped for a three year plan, and was given credit for the one month lapse.  (very fair).  

When I went to cancel my service a few months later, they would not refund my balance saying that because I got credit for the one month, I forfeited the right to cancel.  Multiple emails with Ben Price (customer service) got me no where  Letter to the president, likewise.  

I had agreed to pay the monthly rate, and also pay back the credit for the month I had missed.  No response.  

This company gave me good monitoring service, but very bad service interms of fairness in billing.

My advice is stay away from these guys.  They don't care about you and are deceptive in their promotions.
