Complaint Review: gourmetcookingonline

I responded to an ad in a respected magazine that I have received for many years.  "Introductory " pricing or something similar--Each item was 1 or 2 dollars, plus shipping and handling.  They wanted a completed survery to fill out the order. I paid by MasterCard.    I received a confirmation of order , and number,  but no invoice with billing totals, or billing breakdown.  I had no idea of how much they were charging me.  I had to call them  twice and read them the Riot Act , and they finally sent me an itemized  invoice, for $366.64 4 days later.  They charged over $70 to my card.  I called them to complain, and they said to mail the packages back, with a tracking number. I asked them to remove my name, address, and billing info from their system, which they said they would. I called MasterCard to report the same info. I received a $70 credit from my Credit Card company, so thought the issue was finished.  I mailed the packages back, unopended.   I have now have been billed twice, once in June and once in July , for over $140 each time.  Upon speaking with them today, they said they have not recceived my package, and are billing me for the merchandise.  They want a tracking verification from the USPO that the package was delivered to them. That was in May!!     They said the issue will be investigated, and to call back in 7-10 days.  This group is a scam, and are putting me off time and time again.  I will report back in 7-10 days, but I know the answer (cynical me)--"They didn't receive the package, sorry your fault."  Do not purchase anything from this company without a written invoice and full details.
