At approximately 9AM, Monday, November 15, I received a call (on my cell phone, no less!) from some woman with a heavy accent identifying herself as "Jessica Page" from Government Grant Association. I knew right off the bat that this was a big hoax, but I needed some entertainment so I went along with it. She went on to say that I would receive free of charge $5000 from the government because I was a good paying taxpayer, ya?? (That's how she talked. She ended every sentence with "ya?"). I told her of course I was a good taypayer, never miss a year.

She continued on with her pitch and I went along with it. She then asked me what bank I banked with, so I made up a name. She then told me to go get my checkbook because this $5000 was going to cost me only $199 as a processing fee and she needed my checking account information to deduct that $199 from my account.

OK-now dont get me wrong here--I have a lot of compassion for handicapped people. I took care of my ailing mother in the past and I also have a handicapped brother. However, I felt compelled to tell this woman that I was blind and in a wheelchair and that I had a seeing eye dog. I then told her that my nurses aide would be in later. I said the nurses aide cooks for me, walks my dog, runs errands and takes care of my banking. I even went as far as to make up a fake name for my nurses aide. Well, this "Jessica" insisted on knowing my checking account number. She even asked me if my seeing eye dog could go get it. I started to laugh, but quickly muffled it. She asked me what I said. I told her that my seeing eye dog was sitting on my foot and I just told him to move. Well, I told her no-my seeing eye dog could not go get my checking book and even if he could, I could not read the numbers in it. She said she would call back for and talk to my nurses aid. She must have called back 15 times yesterday--each time I had an excuse why my 'nurses aide' wasn't there. So there--I had my fun with this company.

DON'T BE SCAMMED BY THESE JERKS !!!!! And to all the handicapped people out there, I love you. You are God's gifted children. Peace be with you all and have a wonderful and safe Thanksgving, Christmas and Hannukah. Blesses.
