Complaint Review: Government Grant Department

I had received a call from the Government Grant Department and they said that they would give me $5000. After the transfer, they said that all I had to give my bank permission for them to transfer $250.75 out of my account for their pocessing fee. They said that the money was from our taxes and that 45,000 U.S. citizens were chosen to receive the funds. They new my name, address, phone number and bank information. Their number was blocked on my caller id. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was transfered. I told the supervisor that I looked them up on the internet and it was showing that this was a scam. They refused to give me a phone number without first getting my account number. So, I hung up on them.
