After submitting a email to this company in regards to a craigslist post they had they contacted me and said they would love to work with me. At first the relationship was where I would be designing a web page for the company and use my resources to help them along with search engine marketing, ecommerce, and web development. I was to do this in exchange for 2 scooters or a total of $3000 in cash. I met up with the client in there office and began to collect information that I needed to do a proper job. I made a statement of work with there needs and gave it back to them. They attempted to tell me that I was asking for too much and when I broke it down for them in terms of what they were getting they understood why I was asking for since the cost to do the project was purely barter.

They signed the papers and I began work on there project within a few days I had samples up for them to look at and they said they wanted two seperate webpages then and then brought up the items they were giving me. I grew suspecious and told them that the deal was only one website but several domains for sem purposes. they said ok. After this happened, the owner suddengly pulled back and said they wanted a rewrite of the contract. I told them no, this is when they said they didnt want to do business with me and they were cancelling the contract. I told them I worked on things for them and I was asking for my money. They told me no. Then told me if I contacted them again they were going to call the police if I went back to there shop or contacted them they would ignore the communication.

This so-called web designer – solicited our business for designing a website. We had a friendly and upbeat conversation about what our goals were. He told me he would come back with some samples. After looking at his sample work  – I decided he was very amateur and did not represent our professional standards.

An example of his amateur "work" is demonstrated by his comments below – for example he says, "they wanted two seperate webpages" -- he misspelled separate.

Next, he says "I grew suspecious." He does not know how to spell suspicious.

Then he states "but several domains for sem purposes"  -- what does "sem" mean? This is not English.

His so-called website work – was just as amateur as his inability to spell correctly. Furthermore the contract did not guarantee payment for samples. When I saw his amateur samples – I decided there would be no sense to continue working and hence I canceled our contract. There was no attempt to rip him off. I gave him an opportunity to prove his worth and he did not deliver. Plain and simple.
