Complaint Review: GPD Developments

 A word of warning, steer clear of GPD Investments and Lee Wiggins or you will be fleeced. I invested with them back in 2006 when I bought an apartment, I put a 30% deposit down, I was promised a 70% mortgage, gauranteed 3 years let (making a handsome return) and it would be fully furnished. What a result, I invested a small sum of money that my father had left me, it couldn't fail!

The last time they actually bothered answering my e mails the gauranteed mortgage and let were gone, not furnished either. They wanted the full amount for the apartments now or they threatened us with court action, that was rich, not a brick had been laid and it was approaching the completion date. The completion dates came and went, 12 months after the original completiion date had passed we were to receive 1% of our initial deposit as compensation on a monthly basis. This was to continue for another 12 months, after which we could claim our full deposit back! What happened? Thats right, nothing!! They refused to give us any compensation, wouldn't refund our deposits and wouldn't answer our phone calls or e mails.

As for the UAE authorities (RERA the so called construction industry watchdog), they sat back and watched it happen, scores of investors being ripped off left right and centre and they haven't lifted a finger to help. I've lost count of the number of investors who I know about who have complained to RERA about GPD, nothing has been done, we are all having to pursue private cases (wasting more money) against GPD. I will never invest or advise people to invest money in that country again money (not that I have any now), I wonder if Lee Wiggins is on the board of RERA....just a thought! If he isn't then maybe they should head-hunt him, i'm sure he'd fit in well.

We will have our day LEE WIGGINS, what goes around comes around! What I wouldn't give to bump into you one day and wipe that smug cheesey grin off your face!!
