I got scammed into purchasing a Kirby vacuum from a door to door salesman. i purchased the vacuum by trading in my current Dyson vacuum, providing a $50 down payment, and financing the rest. I got buyers remorse and cancelled my purchase the same day. I called GPD and explained that I wanted to cancel so I was told how to fill out the cancellation paperwork and to mail it in. I did so the very next day. A couple of weeks later they came and picked up their vacuum but didn't bring back my Dyson nor my down payment. I was told that the gentleman would be in my area again the next day and he would bring my vacuum by if he had time and if not they would fedex it to me. After a week had passed and I hadn't received my vacuum nor my money I called GPD.

I was told to call back in three days since the gentleman I was talking to didn't usually work in that department and was unsure what was going on with my vacuum. He did say that he would get my $50 sent back out to me. I received that check a couple of days later. I called back as instructed and was told that they would pack up my vacuum and mail it out that day. I told her I would be going out of town until thanksgiving (5 days) so it needed to arrive before then. I was assured it would be there before I left. I called back three days later to verify my vacuum had been sent out as promised and was told that the girl I was speaking to was not in the office so she didn't know if it was sent out. I asked her to call the office and find out and then call me back. Forty five minutes later I called her back but no one answered the phone.

Screening calls I'm assuming. I called the Kirby corporate office and filed a complaint with them. I was told GPD had a few days to respond. Well, yesterday I find out that a vacuum has been dropped off to my house. Left on my open porch with nobody home to receive it. I was not called to be informed that they were dropping off a vacuum. What's better? It's NOT MINE! They gave me some crappy old model Dyson that is filthy and clearly not my vacuum. At this point they have stolen my vacuum. Do they not expect people to cancel their purchases? They give you 3 days to do so but just run off with the trade ins and don't know how to label them to assure people get their vacuum back? I'm furious and now I'm out a perfectly good Dyson.
