About 30 min. after turning my resume in to the receptionist I met with Amy. She tells me that after reviewing my resume I am more than just qualified for the customer service position I was currently interviewing for, therefore they would like to consider me for the entry level management position they have available for a new contract. The contract is the Boston Red Sox; who wouldn't be ecstatic?!
I would potentially be responsible for 8-10 operators, their work performance, and the details we would discuss later depending on how interviews went with other prospects. She explained in detail the customer service portion and stated that they took inbound calls for orders and did outbound calls just to follow-up with existing clients. I'm told they handle new retail products for companies such as Samsonite, Disney, Liz Claiborne, and many more. I ask about salary and if the call center is in this office. 14-16 per hour, and yes was her response. I'm excited and come back for the second interview.
Second interview I meet again with Amy and (Anonymous). I asked a lot of questions so after many (anonymous) responds with well lets go and meet some of the clients and get you familiarized. I get into his car and I am introduced to Aaron another employee new to the company. Yikes, I'm confused now and begin badgering (anonymous) with questions. Is the call center in this business court? How many people does the company employ? When did the company open? I went on and on and on. I was continuously told we will discuss the details over lunch in the city near some of our clients.
Ten or so minutes later we're in the middle of Boston. He and Aaron open the trunk of the car and start pulling out knife sets. Ten bucks a piece and they get 30% but during the training week which Aaron is still in you don't get paid. It took everything I had not to laugh in this guys face. I pull it together and continue talking with him. He sends Aaron out to hit a few small restaurants while he talks to me. Aaron comes back and goes I sold three and is all excited. He's not getting paid but just made his company $9.00. Again with the Yikes on my part. I had my boyfriend pick me up and I left. They base the fake job off of your resume and attitude. These aren't the only phonies out there so be careful.

I used to work at GQ Imports and I am ashamed at myself, I am so much better than that and the entire company, led by Mike Kriss, who will sucker you in by pretending he is your friend and trying to bond with whatever it is you like.... Be very aware that if you decide to work at this dump you will be coming in at 6:45, subjected to loud techno music, working untill 7-9 pm and if you make fifty bucks for the day, you're lucky....
You go business to business selling crap chineese imports to unsuspecting people by telling them you're doing a 'promotion' for macy's or disney or whatever company most closely resembles your current cheap a*s product.
After your first interview they 'lure' you in by making you think like 500 people are applying and you just 'happened to get a call back' for a 2nd interview, which, let me tell you, is riding around in a car all day with two goons who are trying so hard to make you think what they are doing is actual legit business. I would be lying if I said I didnt buy into it, because I did.
But my loss is your gain. Use this response to keep yourself as far away from anything having to do with INNOVAGE, DS-MAX, GQ IMPORTS....etc... anything to do with business to business sales strictly on commission - out of a bag and having to use your car all day driving people around.... its no good.....
It is absolutely disgusting that companies like this are allowed to exist. They prey on people that either just quit their job or hated their current one enough to make you think that despite how much the job you're doing for them sucks right now that it will all be worth it when you run your own office..... but you have like 20-30 guys in your office, are they all to open offices? of course not.... so what about the guys in Ny, Pa, Fl, Md, Il...etc... how about them? again, of course not.... and if you think you are going to make it, think twice....
Its almost as if you are brainwashed, they have guys come in that allegedly make "money 24 hours a day with offices all over the country" and this guy comes in and tells you he did the same s**t you're doing and now he's all set for life.... come on....
What I failed to mention, is that no matter how good you do on your own, that means NOTHING.... you need to convince FOUR other pathetic losers to stick with you and buy into the scam as well. I've seen people, including myself, find four actual people, just to see them suck at it or figure out the scam way too quickly and then you're constantly having to rebuild
Another thing, you have to pay them yourself.... the company doesnt pay anyone...... you have to take atleast $50 out of your pocket to pay the loser that didnt even help you make any cash and you have to do this till he/she is ready to do this on their own.....
So as much as people want new people, if you're working in a town that 200 other people just worked, and you're going there with the SAME crap that the last 100 or so of them hit, guess what, you're lucky if you even make $50 and then you actually take a loss that day.......
