Granahan Construction and John Granahan I paid $14k for zero results Orange County and Los Angeles California
I paid $14,200 in cash to have John Granahan soundproof my wall. There were a few options and I chose his most expensive and most recommended one - instead what i received was literally zero noticeable difference after 10 days of not being able to live in my home. If you look really closely at the paperwork he would have you sign, you would notice that it is very sneakily worded so that he doesn't actually have to improve the noise reduction. In fact the only thing it promises is that he is going to rip out your wall and put in a new one regardless of wether it works or not. On top of that my room and my hallway are both now smaller than before which I had zero warning about ahead of time and as i write this right now i can still hear my neighbors coughing and talking as if they were right outside my bedroom door.
He claims he soundproofs professional music studios yet he cant seem to silence a simple human cough. When I asked John about this and what could be done he said he would come and do a reading and the best he could offer me was to "send a report to my landlord". He claims he reduced the noise barrier via a decibel test which he took only AFTER he put in the wall so there's no test he can compare it to and even if it was true, I still paid top dollar for what I and my roommate, neighbors, and my landlord all agree is literally zero noticeable sound reduction difference, period. Now I'm a nice guy and I don't like to slander people or their businesses and normally I let things slide but were talking about fourteen thousand two hundred of my hard earned dollars and 10 days of not being able to live in my own home for a sloppy job that produced zero results and for which he showed no remorse or any type of refund. Dont get scammed and dont use granahan construction. I will happily confirm this for anyone who is curious if I'm just some angry guy who doesn't like John because the fact is he is a pretty nice guy but at the end of the day his only concern was getting me to sign some sketchy paperwork that put 14k in his pocket and a defective soundproofing treatment in my home.
