Grand canyon University Improper management of Funds and double Charging incidents Phoniex Arizonia
I have also had trouble with Grand Canyon University. It started last year when I had some trouble with a family emergency and failed a class. I had to pay for the class and re take it. I questioned why I needed to pay again and they gave me a grant to cover payment. Now I understand needing to pay for classes taken but why do I have to pay them for failing a class, they did not put give the money back to my loan people for the failed class and I had to pay for the class I retook.
Then after the next 2 classes I noticed did not receive my Stipend so I looked into my financial aid and saw problems. I requested a review into why things in my report were wrong. I got a run around and told that a request would be submitted but I was not given the opportunity to speak to anyone in that department.
I was sent the stipend I was to receive it was only half of what they had been but I figured as things were corrected it would be fixed. There were more family emergencies and some hospitalizations and 2 more failed classes which had to be repaid and the retaken classes paid for. I was sent more stipend money I was never sent anything about what was being found in the review. On my last class failure I was told that I was sent too much money and now I owed them.
I now owe them over 3 thousand dollars and my classes are on hold. when I called them to work things out I was told that they would work with me to keep things going if I paid for the failed class again and I told them I needed to wait till I receive my tax return I was told just all when I was ready . I received my taxes and called them and was informed that I had let things go to long (five weeks) and there was nothing they would do for me.
I printed out my account and sat with a calculator and discover many mistakes and the fact that I owe them nothing and have a credit to my account. When I addressed this to them I lost all ability to access my accounts and a bill for the total amount.
