Please help me recover my money. This offer from Grand Crowne Leisure Travel in Irving, TX, headquarters in Branson, MO was a scheme. Here are the facts:

My wife and I attended a presentation at 4835 N. O'Connor Rd, Irving TX 77064 on 15 Dec 05. They promised substantial savings in vacations, condos, air travel, etc. if we would join their club.

We were offered a membership for $8,995.00, but they kept reducing the cost and adding benefits (lifetime membership, adding family members, adding 3 vacations from another company, freezing annual payments for 10 years, etc.) if we would sign up that night for $5,500.00.

They said it would take 5-7 days to get our membership started.

I tried multiple times to get a correct sign on and password. Sometime after the first of the year I got one.

When I signed in, their search engines were down for about a week for maintenance, so I did not have access to services or prices.

When I signed on, it was obvious they did not offer substantial savings; they only provided links to other travel offers and merchandise that was available over the internet to anyone, at no savings.

I tried for over a week to call the local office with no luck.

Grand Crowne has called me 3 times to welcome me, but I haven't been officially welcomed yet.

Frustrated, I drove over to the local office at 4835 N. O'Connor Rd, Irving TX 77064, only to find that they had vacated the premises. When I went next door to State Farm Insurance, they lady told me they left in the middle of the night and said she had heard they had several law suits against them for fraud.

I am filing the transaction dispute form and contacting a lawyer.

Update to Grand Crowne Travel Network

After my complaint letter to the Grand Crowne Travel Network listed here, I received a nice letter from the Director of Quality, Ms Sherry Carpenter, dated 2 Feb 06. In it she stated that the reason I could not access their website was that it was in the process of being remodeled. Further, she stated that the closing of the Irving, TX office was an executive decision and did not have anything to do with lawsuits. She also listed the many facets to membership including the fact that members can receive up to 50% off travel and that they guarantee the lowest price at the time of booking.

I am in the process of a settlement with Grand Crowne Travel Network right now that will be resolved one way or the other by 1 May 06. I will update the website after that time with the conclusion to this matter.
