We purchased our 2005 Honda odyssey ex on february 1st, 2005 first i called the dealership and talked to the manager and he said he can sell the odyssey to me for $25,500.00 after all the dealing he gave us 25,810.00, but that is not my main point, my main point was the salesman, the manager and me agreed on a payment of 585.00 per month on the van but when we get into the financial manager he added $30.00 monthly taxes as what he said is a new law in illinois that we have to pay 30.00 extra so in total of ***.00 monthly.

i have a witness that "KAMAL" the financial manager said that this $30.00 monthly was added to the addition of monthly taxes, i asked him why? i know the $30.00 tax applies only on a lease vehicles and he said that there is a new law in illinois regarding this.

After that we signed, went home and studied the contract i called the financial manager and his name is KAMAL, i asked him again about this 30.00 monthly tax so he repeated again that there is a new law about this taxes and ive been told it was on the contract that we have to pay 30.00 monthly so i went over the contract again and found none.

after 2-3 weeks investigating about this added $30.00 tax whatsoever, i called alex a salesman at carr's honda and asked him if there is a new law about the tax on a financed vehicle and he said there shouldnt be a $30.00 add-on on a monthly tax because we already paid it through the amount of the van and our downpayment, alex said weve been ripped off by KAMAL (he lied about the $30.00 tax), i called the AMERICAN HONDA FINANCIAL SERVICE in ELGIN IL. about this too and been told that there is no tax or whatsoever on a monthly payment, so we've been lied about this added $30.00 a mo, that originally a $***.00 that we agreed together with the manager and the salesman.

Another Inciddent.

I was trying to cancel my GAP Insurance and the extended warranty and i even called the GAP Insurance company if i can cancel this and they said i can, but KAMAL was unwilling to cancel both of my policies (Contract stating i can cancel).

Now that he knows that i filed a complaint thru HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE he called me a.s.a.p
and he was like he said that he didnt say that he added the $30.00 tax he said it was for the 2 insurances, i have my wife as a witness, we understand everyword he said and now it's like we we're the one who were lying.

i even asked Kamal if ican just cancel the GAP and purchase an accessories he said i cant cancel the GAP, or i can cancel the warranty but they have to send the money back to the bank, it is ok to send the 1,559.00 back to the bank if he is goin to lower the payment, but he said our payment will stay the same.

Now he is bailing himself out, telling us that the 30.00 were from the GAP Insurance and Extended Warranty.

Typical Cardealer You were screwed twice

You were screwed twice. First he agrees to $25,500, then he tags you for an extra $310 just for fun. Then the F&I guy does you for an extra $30 a month. As I posted before, bought my wife a new vehicle in DEC. They tried for an extra $400. Told them NO DEAL. I'll bet they wouldn't lose a $25,000 deal over $310. That was your fault. As for the $30 per month, I'd call the tax office and tell them what he is saying. I would think they might have something to say about that.

I had something like that happen to me once. One of those "If we agree to $300 per month will you buy this car and sign right here". No problem. I sign. Get back to F&I and they try and tag me for $315 per month. Tell them NO DEAL. They say hold on, come back with, we'll split the difference $307.50. Say NO DEAL.

Out the door I go. Go to another dealer in town and buy the exact same vehicle for $300.50 per month. Drive back to the first dealer, walk up to my salesmen and tell him, you and I had a deal your F&I guy screwed you out of it. Remember the old saying, if his lips are moving, chances are he's lying.

Because when we where about to leave, this financial manager said everywhere we go we need to pay the $30.00 tax that's y we stayed. The gap has been cancelled, here's a short story
i cancelled the after market extended warranty but he was unwilling to cancel it so he offered me a coupon book worth of $2900, i told him i dont need it all i want is to cancel the extended warranty and get a Honda Car Care, he said ok ill give u Honda Car Care and this coupon book, ok so we took both, now i called the Honda Customer Service and the BBB Chicago and both ordered to cancel the GAP when we went back to the dealership we signed the form to cancel the GAP and he took back the coupon book that he said it was from the GAP, he's 100% BS!.

Just a thought Why did you sign a conract for a monthly payment higher than you agreed to?

Why did you sign a conract for a monthly payment higher than you agreed to? By signing the contract you agreed to the higher payment. If you had tried to walk out that 30 bucks a month would have vanished.
The refund for the service contract that was sent to the bank will not lower the payment but will significantly shorten the loan. No way around that, and you should be able to terminate the gap IF and only IF it is writing.
Best bet now is just to tell everyone you know that this dealership decieved you. Family, friends, co workers, family friends, everyone. Negative word of mouth travels six times further than positive. Oh, and don't go back.
