Complaint Review:
Grand River Toy Poodles
This is an email PayPal sent me where it clearly states that the owner of Grand River Poodles wanted to take back the refund PayPal awarded me. Talk about HUNGRY FOR MONEY.
The dog she sold me that now she wants back destroyed my bathroom wall and cabinets, but she insists she wants HER dog back but she says she is NOT responsible for any damages HER so called dog did to my house....
So If I destroy somebody else's property I am not responsible for any damages.
That's what she is meaning...
People save yourselves for heartache and find another breeder.
Dear Mareza XXXXX,
Please contact the seller regarding the return of the animal or repayment.
Thank you for contacting PayPal Customer Support. My name is Kevin. I am
sorry to hear about this situation, and understand your frustration and
concern regarding your recent claims.
Hello Mareza. I'm sorry I missed you when I called today. I was calling
regarding the 5 recent claims on your account that closed in your favor due
to no seller response. While we do have timeframes built into our claims
process to insure cases are worked in a timely maner, the intended outcome
of any claim is never for either the buyer or seller to end up with both
the item and the money. The seller has mentioned that you were originally
seeking a refund of $300.00. If this is correct, then we respectfully ask
that you send the seller a payment for the difference ($1,490.62). If you
do not intend to keep the animal, then please contact the seller regarding
return arrangements.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this request.

This is one of many answers the owner is emailing me about my complaint.
I am the owner of our home based toy poodle family. We offer puppies to approved AKC show homes as potential AKC registered handlers who exhibit the toy poodles we have bred and obtain Champion status. This is a great honor and this is our goal, to better the breed, and provide health tested toy poodles also to private families for a fee. This particular complaintent is obviously a discruntled individual who has obtained our puppy.
> The posting from sweetmommboricua is a family who had obtained a puppy from us in the past with no complaint. They loved puppy Gina so much they obtained another! The second puppy we provided is a darling Apricot female. We the spouse "Robert" and "I" had an agreement of price and delivery. All arrangements went as agreed. The first day all was well, they they loved the new puppy. The puppy was flown to them on May 4, 2012. This is a normal practice for us to provide puppies by request to those near and far, all over the world.
> Take notice I have not spoken directly or on the telephone with sweetmomboricua. All arrangements have been made through "Robert"
> Since obtaining the puppy sweetmomboricua has a new complaint each week. I will not at this time post e-mails ect. between sweetmomboricua and myself. I will state I am the one scammed by this transaction! Any one who is interested in obtaining information about our puppies are encouraged to visit our website or call us. Our contact information is on our website.
> To date, sweetmomboricua has retained our puppy for which is not paid for. The pay pal transactions have been reversed and on May 24, 2012 $1,730. has been returned to her. She currently has thanked me for the darling puppy. This puppy is not a gift! We have given as a gift 7 darling puppies in the past 5 years to ill children who are terminal with cancer and the elderly who has lost a lifetime friend and are lost without their companion. Our hearts go out to those truly in need who can not afford to obtain a puppy at any price. Do not scam me, if anyone is in this position, call us to see if in fact we may have your loving best friend. After receiving their funds back, they have demanded additional funds from us for their bathroom damages which she claims ate the drywall and chewed the bathroom cabinet. She claims our 3# puppy was locked in the bathroom as she would not stop screaming. Why would my puppy be screaming? I am very upset. I worked everything out with "Robert" and sent $594. via Money Gram for them to send her home immediately. "Robert" agreed to take her to the Vet and return her via air the next day. She stopped him from following thru with his promise. I am very worried about our puppy they have had for 28 days and will not confirm for me they have taken her to the DVM for her rabies injection which is overdue and unlawful to not obtain at puppies current age. I will be relieved to hear from her she in fact obtained the injection in the puppies best interest.
> I retrieved my funds from Money Gram after 6 days as she insisted she is keeping the puppy and the $1,700 plus. The puppy was placed with them as agreed of $1,500 and $375 for "shipping" which totals $1,875.00
> Pay Pal for unknown explation to me has held the remainder. She wants the remainder of the funds, I agreed to give it to her if she sent the puppy home to me in addition to the Vet expenses, airline ticket and gas money of $100. to travel to the airport. She refused to accept the funds and refuses to allow "Robert" to follow through to send her home. Most breeders will not even take a puppy back after it is placed. I love my puppies and will do nearly anything in the puppies best interest if the family is not happy or the puppy is at risk. I will not be bullied by her and pay her $900. for bathroom damages while the puppy is in her care. The 12 week old puppy when delivered was doing fantastic with potty training to outdoors. She was placed in the bathroom, to my understanding, due to her "not being trained". We work very hard to train puppies where is a proper potty location. The new owner must follow thru and teach puppy their new potty place in their new home. Obviously this is in the best interest to allow the puppy to satisfy the new family and to refrain from scolding the puppy.
> We have responded to the Ohio Attorney General, the BBB and the AKC as we have been requested due to the complaint.
> We expect the Apricot puppy to grow to a maximun of 5#. This is not a acceptable breeding size. We will offer AKC registration papers to a family after the puppy has been spayed/neutered. Definately, we will not and did not agree "with Robert" to offer AKC registration papers. We are going to legally have our puppy returned. Please ask yourself why would I offer her another AKC puppy (her 3rd) if she has not paid for the second puppy. Please feel free to contact us in this or other regard.

Mrs. Katona lives in the state of Ohio and we live in the state of Missouri, we purchased a light apricot toy poodle puppy. In her false ads in www.puppyfind.com and in her website www.grandriverpoodles.com she is selling her puppy for $1,300.00 without AKC papers. We paid her $1,500.00 because we were promised to have the puppy with her AKC limited papers. We paid $200.00 for the AKC papers. She claims to be a top breeder, who has won multiple shows, and is in very high standing with AKC. After paying $1,500.00 plus $375.00 for shipping, plus all PayPal charges, I paid close to $2,000.00. Her website states when you receive your puppy you will receive a complete vet exam, health certificate, airline approved crate, a soft bed with food and water. The ad in www.puppyfind.com states I will also receive a copy of her pedigree.
> After I paid her completely, and complied with all of her requests, and paid the $375.00 for shipping, it is my understanding that the shipper is responsible in obtaining the airline that will transport the puppy from point A to B. In fact, I am the one that had to find all the information on the two different air carriers, because she was to busy to do this herself. Remember, I already paid her the fees, she was the one responsible for doing all of this.
> When I received the puppy, the crate was used, the feeding bowls were bent, and the so called soft called bed was a used kitchen rag with holes in it. ( I have pictures to prove it). There was no food or water in any of her bowls. When I took the puppy out of the cage she was not given a bath or groomed and had dried feces stuck by her anal area. The only paper work I received was the health certificate allowing her to travel. I never received copy of the vet exam, the soft bed, her AKC papers and her pedigree papers I was promised.
> When I contacted Mrs. Katona inquiring about the papers for the puppy including AKC papers, shot and vet records, she said there are not vet records. I asked her how am I supposed to know what shots she had because she is supposed to be current, she said she is the vet. But in her ads and website says that her puppies are thoroughly checked by a local vet. Besides that she told me that in order for me to get her AKC papers I have to pay her a fee of $500.00. So I asked her if the puppy is $1,300.00 without AKC papers, and $1,500.00 with limited AKC papers, which I paid, now I have no papers, and I asked her what was the extra $200.00 I paid you for, she could never respond to me. So now I paid for a mutt. So I have a puppy with no pedigree, no AKC papers, no shot records, nothing. Up to now I want to know what I paid $1,500.00 for.
> When I told her I want all of my money back, because I felt and still feel defrauded and what I was promised I never got, her response to me was this: She will out of all the money, she will deduct $300.00 for a non-refundable fee plus she will not be refunding the PayPal charges, and all of the sudden after she gets the dog back she needs to take the dog to a local vet for a checkup, after she told me she was the vet, and she said that the vet bill will be deducted from my money. So in return the only money I will get back, from the almost $2,000.00 I paid, might be $300.00-400.00. I even gave her a chance and called her back, I told her I would let everything go if she sends me the shot records and AKC papers, and her response was there are no papers for you.
> I have all my paperwork my PayPal receipts, copies of the www.puppyfind.com ads, and the copy of the website advertisement for the puppy she sold us.
> Please beware of this so called breeder.

Satisfied resolution for client. Our second puppy arrived May 2012, just like the first, 2 years ago via air from Grand River Poodles in Ohio, owner Roberta Katona. The new puppy is very socialized, full of personality and a happy healthy puppy. There was no issue or complaint with the puppy herself. The issue arose surrounding a misunderstanding regarding obtaining AKC papers for a puppy purchased as a pet. Our money has been returned to us, and seller and buyer are satisfied. We no longer have the puppy.
