Complaint Review: granitecollects.com

Steve( Granite creditors) contacted me regarding my over due balance with Golden State Overnight, he claimed I owed $1762.62, I noticed right away that the balance he claimed that I owed was not the correct amount. Steve(from Granite Creditors) then tried to convince me that he would take off the interest of $92.47, I told him that the amount was incorrect.

Steve then said I needed to face the music and pay him, or he would ding my credit. I laughed that he actually thought he could just threaten me without providing any documents and collect money using these tactics.I hung up on him and contacted GSO, they informed me that my balance was $853.81 NOT!!! $1,762.62, I then informed golden state overnight that the collector they hired was trying to double the amount owed.

GSO then apologized and excepted a payment from me of $100 dollars, I then spoke with gso's collection department and informed them that I would call back in 10 days and pay the balance of $753.81 . I then received another email from Steve trying to collect $1762.62, I also received an alert from life lock that he marked my credit after I already made payment arrangements with GSO.

GSO then informed me that Steve bought my account and seemed to take a special interest in my debt and was acting vindictive, because I went around him and his unethical company. Golden State overnight immediately acknowledged that they made the arrangement with me and excepted my payment of the correct amount $752.62. I spoke with there account manager and was informed that Granite Creditors was overcharging me.

I am here to let anyone know that Granite Creditors is an unethical companythat tries to bully the people that they collect from and obviously there only concern is to rape it's accounts and collect more money then owed. I will be reporting them the BBB and letting them know that they are not practicing ethical behavoir in there business.

My advice is if you owe GSO a balance ask to speak with there collection department and pay GSO directly, because if you wait to long your account will go to granite creditors and they will screw you over with no lubrication. Make sure to question each amount they claim you owe, because they make up fake documents claiming a balance without giving you a brake down. This company is a joke and not professional. One thing I know how to do is make sure the public is aware of there behavior. They can rebuttal, or try to pay to have a better reputation after this, because this report will now follow them on the web.
