I apologize for any misunderstanding regarding the services you've been receiving from our company. There are no commitments with the free product. I also sent for the Grant Master Deluxe CD and was billed $39.95 to my debit card back in October 2008. Here's what I did. When I saw the charge on my statement I immediately called the phone number posted with the transaction. When I reached customer service I explained that I decided not want to use their service and to cancel my membership. The representative proceeded to cancel my membership and issue a refund to my account. When I asked how long would it take to receive my refund I was told to call back in 3 or 4 days. Prior to me making that call I received an alert on my cell phone regarding my debit card account. When I accessed the text msg, it showed a refund of $39.95 from Grant Master had been applied to my account.
I think that whenever a consumer feels that a company has taken money from their account that was not authorized or they have changed their mind about a membership and the fee associated with it, they should immediately get on the phone with the company and request a refund. Be sure that you get (or record) all of the information given by the representative in case you have to take it to a higher level. If you are determined I think that you can get your money back.
