I  signed up with Grant Resource Network and after receiving the cd, charges were applied to my account.  Once they invoiced me, I telephoned and had the account closed.  This happened in 2008, and now May, 2010 I found that they are charging my account $59.95 per month, for services I do not use.  Today, I spoke with GRN customer service, to get the services cancelled and charges stopped immediately.  I also asked if they can refund all monies charged me to since this is the second month that has overdrafted my account and being charged fees for which I cannot afford to pay.  The person I spoke with told me the company would contact me next week, and I would be able to hear the recording, which is not a problem since I have not contacted them since my initial cancellation.  I did not request this service and will not be held responsible for charges I did not incur.  After speaking with their representative, I feel that I needed to report this company for attempting to get money from someone that has cancelled their services nor has ever used their service.

There is definitely a company that goes by the name of "Grants Resource Network" but the contact info listed here is incorrect. The Boston address and the website agmconnect.org are for Associated Grant Makers which is a real Boston-based 501(c)3 nonprofit that works with grantmakers and grantseekers to advance efficient philanthropy.
We do have a program called the "Grant Resource Network" which is a collection of libraries that have free access to a number of funding databases.

The scam website is: http://grantresourcenetwork.com/ - I believe they are listed as being in the UK.

Thanks,

Nate
