Grant Services, GSI ripoff, pay for grant money, scam, fraud Scam Artist Capital Florida
The only thing that my caller id displayed was "Incoming Call". I knew I probably shouldn't have answered it but I did. The woman on the other end had a very heavy latino accent. She said she was with Grant Services, Inc. and had a $6,000 government grant waiting to be dispursed to me. She said the reason I was receiving it was because I had a yearly income that qualified me for such a grant which immediately alerted me that this phone call was some type of telemarketer. My yearly income was no where near as low as she said.
I would usually have hung up by this point but a few weeks ago another company tried to scam me by trying to sell me a debit card, that's right a debit card, for $130.00 - Platinum Benefits Group - also of Clearwater, Florida, but that's a whole other story which I am also going to file on this website. So I kept listening so I could get more info from the company to see if they were, in fact, a scam.
I asked her how and why I was selected to receive this grant and she kept saying "because of my low annual income." So I asked her "What's the catch?" She said "there is none." All you have to do is give us your bank info and authorize us to debit $298.00 to your checking account and they will take care of all of the paper work that has to be done to receive it.
As soon as I heard that I told her that I was not interested and would like some info on her company if I was to do this. I told her to mail me something and I would look into it. She then told me that if I didt't understand how it worked that I could actually speak to her manager. She connected me to "Stuart" who told me that they were not actually the company that gives you the grant. They were just there to file to paperwork so you could get the grant. He told me that most average people could not do it on there own because there was too much paperwork involved. I told him that I would not commit to giving my bank info. He seemed surprised that I wouldn't. I told him to mail me something and I would consider it.
After I hung up I checked them out on the internet - no website, no phone, no location, nothing. It was almost like they didnt exist. But I did find this website because of them. Thanks GSI. Your one step closer to being shut down. It seems to me that Florida is the scam artist capital of the world. I will file a report with the Attorney General's office in Florida and seek legal advice on how to stop these Floridians from stealing money from hard working people.
And a message for the people that work for these scum bags - go to college and get a degree, be able to tell someone that you work for a known company that offers a real service. If you put half of the effort into school that you do trying to rip people off you would probably be wealthy yourself. And to "Stuey" - you did seem like a nice person but you couldn't fool me.
