Grass Stitcher LLC Frank Catalano rips off small businesses by refusing to pay them. He breaks written and verbal contracts with independent contractors. Lebanon, Connecticut

Frank Catalano, owner of Grass Stitcer LLC hired us to perform marketing services for his business. After we provided these services, he was given an invoice for $970. He stated that he was short on money and couldn't pay. We gave him extra time, per his request and broke one agreement after another.

Frank Catalano is a manipulative deadbeat who uses the legal system to continue to avoid paying this debt. Yet, while he states that he does not have money, he has continued to hire more independent contractors through Elance.com. While we have offered a payment plan, this deadbeat has said his business was not good and has no money, but he finds in his budget over $4000 to hire other contractors. I don't have a problem with that. My problem is that we are owed this money and he does not want to pay.

He has hired the following contractors AFTER us, for the following amounts:

majawal for $130

e-solbiz for  $70

esmartdata for $425

asketkar for $80

ImagineGrafix for $551

ddreese for $150

Nelsonartdirecton for $373

Nelsonartdirection for $400

NelsonArtdirection for $660

Finalecho for $400

multimediamars for $350

multimediamars for $300

flashpointmedia for $150

As you can see, Frank Catalano is a deadbeat. He doesn't pay when he believes he can get away with it. His business Grass Stitcher LLC, is built by scamming and ripping people off and not paying them.

Franz

Id like to clarify something IM THE CUSTOMER!!! I should have complained about your services on the Rip-off report. I was unwilling to pay you full amount because your services suck!

I  did use your services, but the last project did not meet my standards and I offered 60% of the bill just as you said.

I pay all my bills on time to whom ever I hire but when Im not happy I expect a reasonable business person to meet me somewhere in the middle or close I offered 60%  you declined and you offered 8%  with additional interest fees and I declined, because frankly the last job was not worth 30% of that bill, regardless I sent you a  partial check in good faith, which was never cashed, because you felt you wanted the entire amount in small claims court with an additional $500 of  fees!  You filed this claim expecting me to lose in a court in California, then you found out that you cant bring this to a court outside of my working state.

Your unwilling to compromise 40% and by the way I might have met you have way if you were a reasonable business man, but no, you felt its better to go on a childish rant, take me to court, try to bang me with interest etc. then cry to the public with your sob story.

Grow up! In the real world business people work out differences, you could have gotten most of your money, respected my view, because I AM THE CUSTOMER and went on with life, but instead you spend all your time insisting on getting more out of me then go on ranting and raving.

You could have saved your self a lot of time by working things out instead of letting your greed and ego rule your decisions.

More lies from Frank Catalano. He really shows his character. Dishonest as usual. Caught in more lies.

It is not surprising to see that Frank Catalano responded within a day of this posting. I guess when you are backed into a corner, a person will say anything to get out of it, even if it's not right.  There are some clarifications that must be made about what Frank Catalano claims in his rebuttal.

First, he did not hire us just one time. He hired us 3 different times. Each time, he asked for more and more services. He was given written quotes, and he approved them each time.

The following are comments made by Frank Catalano about our services:

In reference to our services:

Client: LawnGuru (See 27 other reviews)
Aug 13, 2009|$275|Software Application|Completed| Job Details
Feedback Comments:
Provider was a pleasure to work with, completed project as outlined with great results. I would highly recommend.
LawnGuru

In reference to making payment for the services he states were "overpriced" Frank Catalano stated:

November 16, 2009
"I will get that out A.S.A.P.
Thanks
Frank"

January 4, 2009
"Presently I'm tapped out. I will need some time, sorry"

March 9, 2009
"As I explained I am strapped right now. I will make payment as my cash flow is better in April (lawn product business)"

During this time, he was not really "strapped" for money but stated that he needed the money to "put food on the table". He just didn't want to pay. The only way he could do that was by saying he had no money, yet he kept hiring other providers.

He claims he never agreed to the bill we had sent him. Yet he never disputed any part of it until we began asking for our money. He never stated what services he was not happy with either. We asked him to clarify. He couldn't, because as his own words stated, we "were a pleasure to work with, completed project as outlined with great results." He would also "highly recommend."

We presented him with a payment plan which he ignored. We also offered to waive all late fees if he would agree to pay us in installments. Instead he wanted us to knock off 40% off his bill. He says we tacked on additional fees. We offered to discount 8% off his bill as a gesture of goodwill. He ignored it.

Frank Catalano, asked for and received 45 days to pay us. This was back in March 2010. Those 45 days came and went and to this day he still has not paid us.

Frank Catalano will say anything to avoid paying what he knows he owes. The bottom line is just that. We have the emails to prove it. He hired us 3 different times. Each time he was happy with our work.  To date, all of the things we have done for him, are still on his web site. If he was really dissastified with it, why are they still there? His own words and actions speak for themselves.

In his rebuttal, he does not dispute the validity of the debt. He can't, because he agreed to it. He states I call him names.  I used the word "deadbeat" to describe him. Deadbeat is defined as: "one who does not pay one's debts" which in this case applies.  But like I said before, Frank Catalano aka lawnguru, aka grassstitcher will say anytning to avoid paying us.

Franz Hurtado:

Funny Franz, I have hired other services because your service is way overpriced, inferior and does not meet my standards, not even close. Plus you blind sided me with a bill I never agreed to. While I offered to pay you a reasonable fee, you tacked on additional fees, you called me names, refused my offer with no compromise and have resorted to slandering me. You are an unprofessional businessman and your company XCBSYS Consulting services in Sunnyvale, CA along with your partner Lizzette Vela offer poor services, that's the bottom line.
