Complaint Review: Gravity Defyer

Gravity Defyer Kept my refund for one month, and in my opinion it was to pad their own pockets. Chatsworth, California

After purchasing ill fitting shoes from Gravity Defyer, the shoes were returned to the company with a detailed letter explaining the return.  Because the return went UPS I was able to track the package, and learned that it had been delivered within one week. 

I waited one week, after their receipt of the shoes, for the refund to show up in my bank account.  When it did not appear I called the company to find out what was causing the refund delay.  The customer service representative informed me that my phone call would BEGIN a case file on my account and that it would take one month for the refund.  I was astounded at this reply, and when I asked her what would have happened if I had not phoned she did not have an answer. 

I waited for over three weeks for the refund to appear in my bank account before making a second call.  I talked with someone who again needed to speak with "accounting" before being able to tell me that my refund had not begun being  processed.  In my opinion, the only reason the refund process started with the second call was because I threatened to publish internet complaints about my experience with the company. 

I asked to speak with a supervisor, and when the supervisor came on the line she said the refund would take place within 3 business days, and that I would be getting an email to that effect. 

I informed the supervisor that I had never dealt with a company so reticent to make a refund, and that all other companies I deal with give refunds immediately upon return of the merchandise.  I also told her that, in my humble opinion, her company was keeping my money, and that of other customers, in order to harvest the month's interest.  I congratulated her on working for a dishonest company. 

Oh, by the way, I did not think the shoes were anything special, and whatever size you normally wear.....you might want to add a size or two since their "technology" seems to take up room in the foot-bed!!!! 

I'm still waiting for the refund to happen.  It has not been three business days yet, but if three business days pass it will be exactly one calendar month from the time they received my return. 

I do not have an official dispute with this company, but I find this practice of holding on to a refund for this long dishonest, and a reprehensible business practice even if it is their company policy!   Once Gravity Defyer had the return of the shoes in their possession, my money should have been returned immediately so that I, and I alone, could earn interest on MY MONEY!!!
