I lived at HeatherWood Apartment for "seven" years in the same apartment; In 2002 my ceiling caved in and the complex painted over the ceiling with mix-match paint and vaccum the carpet. In addition, the complex completed my repairs "two" months later.

In 2005 I was placed under Doctor's care and my AC unit started going bad in the summer, I started smelling smoke from the unit and hearing loud noise, I called the 24 hour number and no one contacted me that morning I went to the office and reported the problem again and the maintenance guy came to the apartment and replied that he couldn't find the probably the AC unit is working fine, I replied yes I turned it off overnight and you have just turned it back on; needless, to say the problem continue. therefore, I had the property manager come over and I had the AC unit running making the same sound and blowing hot air, in addition, I asked for fans to cool down the apartment and that request was never answered, as well as the water soaked through the hallway closet ; as a result, the maintenance team returned with a fan blower that made loud noise and stayed in my apartment for "three" days.

In 2007 I asked for new carpet and for the walls to be repainted again my request was denied and new tenants moved in with 9 occpants and the traffic in that apartment were unbearable therefore, I reported this complaint to the manager and the extra tentants were asked to vacate. Several months later I noticed the constant door slamming and the stomping of feets running up and down the hall; at my surprise the tenants had increased to "7", I reported this to management and she replied that she will give them a warning and if this continue they will be evicted.

In 2008 I reached my limit and I couldn't understand why I haven't received in satisfaction, therfore, I went to the office and yet again HeatherWood Apartments had changed property management again; it seems like every "two" years or less management change and the residents were not informed into you go looking for answers and you find out that your problem has not been reported and they aren't aware of the situation; nevertheless, I inform the new management about my problem and she replies that she will speak to the tenants. No one contact me about the progress therefore I return to the office and the office manager informs me that she has spoken with the tentants and informed them that this is their 2nd warning and the next time their will be a violation charge added to their bill and she gave me her phone number and cell to call her if the noise level continue and I did Heather did not return my call I constantly have tried to do the right thing I talked to my neighbors about the noise level and the property manager and no results therefore I called Newport News Police and reported my complaint and officer arrived and informed me that Newport News Police do not write citations anymore and this matter must be handle by management, I informed him that 7 people should not be living in a 2 bedroom apartment with 3 adults and 4 kids the officer replied that he noticed that. The next day I contacted Heather and she claims that she arrived later that night and spoke with the tenants and they asked if they could move to a different complex never happen they continue to stay in the same complex with the same amount of people.

On November 06,2009 I vacated HeatherWood Apartment and the last "two" months I have not received my deposit or spoken with anyone other then please leave your number and someone will contact you on Jan 05 I called the corporate office and I was informed that my paper work has not been received contact the Heatherwood; therefore, I contacted the complex and was informed that they have sent the paper work to corporate and the matter is not in their hands.

Most importantly, the complex needs an housing inspection on the structure of the complex because maintenance removed the bathroom ceiling drywall to find the leak and so called fixed the leak and for sereval days I showered at friends home and I invited the tenant above me to see the damage of the kitchen, bathroom, and the carpet as a witness, she explained to me that my apartment should be condemed and the complex. I need to know if its to late to hold this apartment responsible for my pain and suffering for "seven" years.
