Great Atlantic Warranty, Car Warranty Boca Raton Florida
On March 7, 2008, I purchased an extended warranty with Great Atlantic Warranty. Later that month and after several calls to the customer service department I decided to cancel the policy. I wrote a letter on March 24, 2008 and sent it to them requesting in writing that the policy be cancelled. A couple of weeks later I called them again requesting my refund and was told it took up 8-12 weeks before a refund would be given.
When I spoke to Eric Grosser on July 11, 2008, he stated that a refund was due and they would credit my credit card. On July 15, 2008, he called me and stated that because I purchased the service more than 120 days ago, they could not credit my credit card and that I would need to call the main office and they would issue me a check. I called the main office, but it was their answering service that picked up.
I filed a complaint with the BBB on July 18th, called the AG's office in FL and in my home state and called the Consumer Affairs office in FL
Finally on September 3rd I received a refund check, but it bounced on September 10th. I called and called again only to leave messages with their answering service.
These people are scam artist and thieves without ethics or morals. I don't know how they can live with themselves.
