Summary of complaint or question: This complaint is against( Kevin Schmersal) of Lebenshuger German Shepherds of Bangor,Me.
The transactions was done at the kennel outside on a cold, windy and snowy day 3/2/2010. The dog was laying low and we were told that he was just leary of us and that once we gave him a chance he would come out of it. He told us that he would lower the price from $1800.00, cause he had to get rid of him.When we brought him home we saw that he had a left hock that he was walking on rather than on his paw so much that he had a callous. We called he said it was normal...at that time I realize that we had gotten a defective dog,we took the dog to the vet and also had xrays done of his hip which was found to have one side higher than the other. We were told we would have to take him to a specialist. When seller was called about this he was extremely denying anything was wrong with this dog. Please be wary of this seller and don't take his word for anything.I paid $1000.00 for this dog that I now have sold him for $300.00,cause I could not afford to take him to Portland,Me and pay !
for a specialist.
I really think this gentlemen should be taken out of buisness.

Now this is interesting.
On feb. 26th 2004 Kevin Schmersal purchased a New horse trailer and PRomised to have it paid for in full in few months. It is Now 5/1/05 and half was paid and he skipped on the rest. I have ried to take him to court and he knows the court rules better than the court! He failed to show up at may 4th hearing refuses discloser hearing and I am trying to have a sherrif serve him for jail time. This man is a shister and a theif.
When I tried to repo trailer I was veribly threatened by him and his wife Patti. These two also are in the puppy selling business / over 73 complaints concerning fraudulet acts.
I also know them to have ripped off Hemphill's
hrse sales for a round pen that same M/O he paid for half and refused to pay the rest. If anyone reads this Do NOt TRUST this man. This man will say anything to get what he wants and then treat you like he never knew you. I am still chasing this guy for half my trailer. I hold the certificate of origin and he has this on the road illegally hauling livestock with NO registration for state of Maine.

A lovely dog. I am so sorry that I sold him to these people. As I told them, he's a young dog that needs time to grow and develop. I talked with their vet and the vet said that they didn't know if there was anything wrong with this dog and advised them to wait until the dog was older to Xray, just as I had told them. I also told them that if they waited until the dog was older to have him Xrayed, as would be appropriate, and if the Xrays proved there was an issue that needed medical treatment, I would refund their purchase price. I even sent them that guarantee in writing, but as you can see, they failed to mention that little item in their complaint here. They are awful dog owners. Sometimes bad dog owners like this get through despite my best effort to screen them. They are Ben Levesque of Litchfield, Maine and his wife, Martha.. If they are looking for a German Shepherd from you, please do the dog a favor and do not sell them one.
