On the 8th December 2017, my daughter and I turned up at Great Directions appointment, a company claiming to treat hair loss, via using Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) that uses injection to obtain blood and then it is used to inject or micro needling into the areas of your head where the hair loss takes place.

The day before, I had received a message advising me of a change of address, in which I was annoyed of the short notice I was given. When I arrived at the new premises, I was not expecting what I was about to walk into.

The message I had received stated that the location of Great Directions address was 405, St Kilda Road, Melbourne and a code with the numbers, in which I deleted accidentally from my mobile at the time before I discover what was about to happen to me. Consequently, I remember that some of the numbers had 303 in this code.

When I arrived, I was initially puzzled and lost, thinking I was in the wrong location, not understanding exactly where this business was situated. Part of the code number was actually an apartment number of where Mr Moore, the owner resided!  When I pressed the code number buzzer, Mr Moore answered it, advising me to go to the third floor.

When we got to the 3rd floor, I was not clear where to go, knowing that this was a residential apartment, and through the confusion just outside the door of Mr moors apartment, he heard my distressed behavior and hollowed out “I’m here 303!” At this stage, I was agitated to see that this was not what I signed up for, but little did I know it was about to get worse.

My daughter and I could not believe what we were witnessing. We walked into the one-bedroom apartment, small and cramped with furniture. I could not believe the condition of this apartment, as everything was everywhere, in a disorderly fashion.

There were two seats cramped near the hallway, blocked with furniture where the treatment was taking place on the other side of this so-called ‘partition’.  Across the room, I saw a long slim mirror where I could see Mr Moore administering an injection to his patent, sitting on Barbra’s chair. I was appalled and couldn’t believe what was happening.

In this environment, I did not see any qualifications stating Mr Moors training of this practice, and when it came to my turn, did I see him wearing gloves.  As far as I was concerned, Mr Moore is breaking OHS laws and other policies and related procedures.

When it was my turn for treatment, Mr. Moore, administered the injection in my arm to collect my blood, with no gloves, I was watching him, he then proceeded to ask me to look the other way, when I asked him why, he responded by saying, ‘I get nervous’!

What kind of qualified medical nurse or partition running this type of business is nervous administering an injection says this? This was the final cherry on the cake, so to speak, that convinced me he was illegally practicing his business. During the treatment, I asked about his staff members; he advised me that his staff go away every year for training. I knew this was not true, so I messaged one of his staff members while I was waiting for treatment, Mr Moore was unaware that I had known them. They advised me that it was not true, he had dismissed them. This confirmed my suspicion of his practice and his deceitful conduct.

Please, please stay away from this professional con artist! He just steals money from you, without delivering the goods. Only a professional registered nurse can administer PRP, in which he is far from that!
