After ending a three year relationship that destroyed me, I went into a deep depression. One day while I was at work a dating service popped up on my screen and I decided, hesitantly, to open it. It was Great Expectations.

I filled out there questionaire and then someone called me to set up an appointment at the location nearest me. It was 45 minutes away and I worked 7 days a week at the time. I decided to take off a Saturday from my second job, waitressing which I lost at least $100 that day, and I went. I was brought into a little room with one window and a small tv. I was nervous and was kept waiting at least 15 minutes before anyone even came in the room.

She walked in looking like she was fresh off of Hollywood Blvd and never even introduced herself. She looked like a younger Mariah Carrey. She definitely had a little accent and was always saying uumm, and doing some annoying clicking noise with her lips. She bullied me around telling me why I needed the service, that they needed women my age and with no children because they were a lot less in ratio to the men, and that the men in the service were all professionals. She kept saying when you join today...which I had no intention of doing until I had thoroughly checked them out.

Then the kicker came when she asked me to write down in a small paragraph why I wanted to join the service as she left the room to make sure all the credit info I filled out would go through their credit people, mind you I had been there for almost two hours by that time. I wrote down a nice paragraph. When she came back after about another 15 minutes, she informed me I was ok'd by her credit people. I said great, but I'm not joining today. Then the claws came out.

She said why did you write the paragraph on why you wanted to join? I said because she asked me to. She came back with if I wanted you to jump off the Brooklyn Bridge, would you? After that, she was lucky I didn't beat the living crap out of her. I'm originally from North Jersey and would love to take Carmen to that bridge, I know it all too well.

I stormed out in total disgust!! I was going to write the company, but didn't want to give them anymore of my free time. Since then I have been using an Internet Service that has been wonderful and demanding only to my needs, not what they want or a commission. Carmen, you can kiss my a*s and if I ever see you out in the street, I am going to beat the s**t out you.

doubt you were exactly a bed of roses as a potential customer

This has to be one of the funniest posts I've ever read on here, in a pathetic kind of way.

Your beef isn't with Great Expectations. You don't even claim you got ripped off, since you didn't buy anything. Your beef is with Carmen (whose name you know, despite claiming saying she never said who she was) of whom you are obviously insanely jealous.

You start of with saying she looked like she "came off Hollywood Blvd." Of what relevance is that to your complaint? Absolutely none -- obviously you just encountered a woman far more attractive and sexy than you, and because she was a bit aggressive in her sales pitch, you took this opportunity to slander her in a public forum.

Based on your own comments, I doubt you were exactly a bed of roses as a potential customer. You led this saleswoman on for 2 hours, even giving her your credit info, and then abruptly back out at the last minute? I'd be ticked too if I were the salesperson; that's a half-day of someone's time you just wasted and you know full well they make their living off commissions. Why not just say, up front, "I'm not going to buy today, I just want some information"? Instead you gobble a half of a day of her time, then slam her on a public forum, and conclude with "I am going to beat the s**t out of you." How sweet.

No wonder you can't get a date.

You made the right choice

You were smart to walk away from Great Expectations. Save the thousands of dollars that they would have charged you. You'll do as well using the lower-priced or free internet services.

Good luck!
