Complaint Review: Great Expectations Dating Service

To begin, I'm shocked by the number of people who are taken in by these scam artists at Great Expectations. Wow that's not meant as criticism though. I had considered Great Expectations in Houston a couple of years ago and was contacted by one of their reps who reminded me of a Chihuahua nipping at my heels.....she was relentless in her efforts to "suck me in".

However, I researched this service before meeting with anyone and was quite surprised by the number of complaints received. The next time she called, I had a few choice words for her along with the Rip-Off Report website address for her to refer to.

This "sophisticated, intelligent lady" quickly became a blubbering, stuttering idiot before disconnecting the call, at which time all phone calls ceased from Great Expectations.

I will agree somewhat with the last blog.... despite them pulling you a room and feeding you a line of bull, you don't have to sign the dotted line. As evidenced by the person who authored the last blog, these people aren't too bright (I mean seriously. BITE ME? What, are you 12?)

In fact, these people probably one rung below the stereotypical used car salesman (or woman in this case). Thus, no one should in their position should EVER have any influence over you at ANY TIME. Again, your dealing with unscrupulous, socially inept 12 year children with criminal minds and lofty financial goals. In fact, absolutely no one will take my credit card or license until I know exactly everything will cost up front, and NO ONE IN THIS VENUE will ever have my license and social security #. Back ground check? Give me strength!

Lastly to the last blog, it's time to grow up sista' and try to muster up a little big of integrity in this life, seriously.

You know I have been reading horrible things about this company and I am an x - employee that has only been working there for less than 6 months. I just have to say that you as a person should be ashamed of yourself for even writing this crap. People come to this place for a safe screening of others, if you join then YOU obviously were a lonely person in hopes that you would find someone. People DO FIND MATES using this service. All of you are mad and angry because you didn't and now you have to lay the blame on someone so who is it? The dating service that YOU contacted somehow. When you walked in there you had a dream of meeting someone and since you didn't you are now a bitter person. I don't understand why you all CAN'T take responsibility for your actions. Regardless of outcome with them YOU STILL WENT THERE AND YOU PAID! I feel like there is no pressure in sales, just gulliable consumers. And let me not forget to mention that you all that are NOT getting bites, guess what, no one is perfect, you should say YES to ANYONE who would be interested in meeting with you. You have to STOP judging the book by the cover.

I was ripped off by the office in Houston, TX. I paid 1750.00 down, and cancelled the next moring. Not only did they refuse to refund my money, they continued to have men call me that were out of it. One had just gone through a divorce, like I really wanted someone on the rebound. Another one called me and proceded to tell me he was smoking a joint. This was a big rip off. I complained to the BBB and they ended up siding with Great Expectations.
Either way I would never do something like this again. I have found my soul mate on my own. I still wish I had a way to get my money back but its been almost 3 years.
