Complaint Review: Great Lakes Concrete

I received a letter today titled "Award Notification: Final Notice of Winning", from CIBC Financial group in Ottawa Canada.
It mentioned Best-Buy, Wal-Mart, Sears and other major retailers as part of a "Customer Compensation Draw".
Also included was a quite genuine looking check from "Great Lakes Concrete" in Hamburg New York in the amount of $3,850.00.
Since I NEVER trust such mailings,  I checked out these people on-line, where I found posts from individuals who had been contacted and "scammed" by the same "company" before.

Still, I called the number given in the letter, in order to contact a Mr. Carl Benson, who was to give me the details of my award.
When I questioned him about the genuineness of their Award Notification, he became extremely rude. I told him that I had discovered several posts on the internet, claiming fraud by his company.
Rather then apologizing or even defending himself, Mr. Benson (probably NOT even his real name), threatened me with the police!!
I told him I wasn't worried about Canadian police, since I am residing in the US.
He then hung up the phone on me.

I need to add nothing further to this incidence - it TRULY IS obviously a SCAM!
I just want EVERYBODY out there to be aware of this SCAM - DON"T FALL FOR IT!!!
Who knows what the outcome may be!
