Greater Air Of Michigan/ Health Mor Greater Air Of Michigan Waterford Michigan
Have you ever looked at a job posting in the news paper that says: Customer service, $15.00 dollars and hour, paid training and benefits? Well if you have you know what i'm talking about. I answered that same ad, in the Oakland press. I called and set up an interview.
When I went to my interview I walked into a room with blaring music, chairs set up in a row and full of about 20 people. I was handed an application of employment and I filled it out. A woman named Shannon, walked into the room and asked how every body was feeling. She then explained what the job was about.
Now, the ad said the job was for customer service. Shannon told every one in the room that this position was not a sales job that they are not Kirby and they don't go door to door. She also said that the training was paid; profit sharing and full health benefits were involved.
This is how the jobs work: Each "stop" you make you will earn $15.00 and an extra $5.00 for gas, so that's where the hourly pay is involved. Each stop is "ONLY" one hour long and they will not send you more than 20 minutes away from the office and you have to make 15 stops a week. All the stops are made through the office, called "office appointments." You are not required to get your own leads or make your own appointments. They will do it for you. Sounds good so far right? Each machine or "system" that you sell you will make $100.00. You must sell 3 per week, minimum.
Also after 3 months, your profit sharing will increase from $100.00 to $300.00. That's what is said in training. This company claims that you will make a "crap ton of money" by selling there product. Now remember... this is not a "sales" position.
I and about 10 other people were asked to come back and enter training. On the first day there were about 10 people, the next day there was 8 people left, then 6 people and finally 5 people on the last day. There were two gentlemen at the first day that had teeth that were not so glamorous... well they were not asked to come back, we were told it was because of there appearance.
During training, which lasts 3 days, the Trainer, Shannon shows you how to sell the product, how it works, why it works and constantly yells, "How is every body doing to day?" and the trainees yell back "Super fantastic" (office lingo) and then she'll say, "What do you want to make a lot of?" Trainees yell, "Money!" So, this happens like every few minutes.
On the last day of training (third day) Shannon tells the group that over the weekend we have to do practice demos. It was required for every one to complete ten by the following Tuesday morning. First Shannon said if you complete ten by Tuesday you will receive $100.00. Then before we left for the day, Shannon said, if EVERYONE does ten by Tuesday morning Shannon would hand every one $100.00 cash. Well there were 5 people in my group and only 2; I and another girl completed all ten, so no one received $100.00. Now, if every one completes there ten the profit sharing amount will change from $100.00 to $300.00. So, every "system" you sell you will earn $300.00.
Over the practice weekend you could "sell" a majestic 360 or a Defender 360. If you sold one you would receive $200.00, if you sold 2 you would receive $250.00, if you sold 3 you would receive $300.00 and a GPS or Digital camera with a printer. If you sold 4 you would receive a Defender, if you sold 5 you would receive a Majestic 360. If you sold 6, 7, 8, or 9 you would get $500.00 per sale and if you sold 10 you would receive $1000.00. Sounds too good to be true.
Over my practice weekend I sold zero. In training they tell you 8 out of 10 people by there product. Well, that must not be true. Every person that I showed this product to could have paid cash for it, but the person on the phone pushes a hard sell and forces the buyer to make a snap decision.
Now, these machines cost $899.99 for the Defender 360 and $2450.00 for a majestic 360. If you buy both your looking at about $3349.99 Plus tax. If you're smart, you're going to think about spending $3,000.00 on a product you have only seen for an hour. You're going to want to sleep on it. But most people don't. If you don't want to pay cash, credit or check they well help you finance your "system." Also, they tell you to ask for "referrals" and that you need to get at least 20 "referrals" a day and 100 "referrals" a week.
This business works off of the "referrals" you give them, not off of office leads. Also in training they will tell you, only you will "show" your own "referrals."
That's a faults statement. My first office appointment, was someone else's "referral." And then they tell you, know no, anyone can "show" someone else's "referral."
On Tuesday, the first day of going out on office appointments, they tell me that if you don't complete 15 "shows" a week or sell 3 a week you will not get paid. They never told us this in training, when we signed a contract and paid a $30.00 "application" fee.
Shannon also told us that the appointments will be no more that 20 minutes away from the office. My first appointment was in Flint, Michigan, 45 minutes away. So, I told them you said "the appointments will be no more that 20 minutes away from the office." They said well, its only twenty more minutes. So I told them no thank you and quit!
Hopefully I was able to share my experience with you and able to provide you with some insight to what this company is about. Some people maybe able to make money off of them, but the majority get scammed!

Everything that was said is true. Responded to an ad yesterday on Craigslist that said $20/hr, went to an interview with about 25 other people in a empty conference room with a whiteboard, wooden chairs, and a radio blasting music. The office was empty and looked like it had recently been moved to. A man by the name of Mr. Ingledue came in and presented the whole scheme saying that we make $20 an hour presenting these filtration systems and thats all we have to do, if someone happens to buy one then you get an additional $100. Then he said to call later on to see if we got the job, I called and was hired. I ended up telling my dad the job I got and he asked the company name. That's when I realized I had no clue what it was. So I did some research and found out thatit goes by many different names: Health - mor, HMI industries, Filterqueen, Michigan quality air, F and D distributors...ETC. I then found all of theserip off reports about the company and they are all true. The company makes you try and sell to your friends and family, and they requireyou to go to at least 15 presentations a week. What they don't tell you is that theyve purposely hired far too many people so that there isn't enough presentations to go around. So every employee ends up getting only like 5, by the time the pay periodcomes around no one is payed becausethey did not reach the 15 presentations goal. The company does this on purpose so you sell there product, which is highly marked up, for free, so that if you by any chance happen to sell one they get all of the money. By the end of the two weeks when no one is payed, they all quit, the company lays low for awhile, and then relocates to a new office under a new name, and starts the hiring process over again. This company is sick, and they pray on the unemployed who are in need of money and use them for their own benefit. Its a waste of your time, and you'll end up going in the hole from paying for gas. They will not pay you. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. the address in Shelby is 51258 Oro Rd. Shelby Township, MI, and you can reach them at 586 477 2500

OMP Distributing Still Going Strong

OMP Distributing, 3549 Airport Rd, Suite 108, Waterford, Michigan still going strong in July 2011. Yes April is still there..... talking faster than humanly possible. I am grateful to all the previous reporters for their sacrifice. I went to initial session and was told they were looking to fill One position. I made the call later that day and was told I got the job. I then did a search and found this report. It all smelled fishy in the first place. The ad I responded to was for "display". When I got there April would not answer any questions during the session or later on the phone about the "dealieo". No mention of how much these "air filters" cost or any other details for that matter. I called today and asked what products they sold and I was told they didnt sell products but they did "air pollution research". Please don't waste your time with this one.

Both of you are right on. This is how this company and its parent companies, Health Mor and Filter Queen operate. Shady and not trustworthy. It is, in essence, a pyramid scheme. April at the Waterford, MI location is very shady and so is her company. I know of many people who were lured into their trap and wasted several days of training for this job, only to later find out that they must sell a certain amount in a week. This is after they have given $30 for insurance that they never get back. A few people succeed at this, and the rest give their money for insurance and get some referrals and quit, and this is what the company has planned all along. Read up on April, Greater Air of Michigan, Health Mor, Filter Queen, etc. That's what I did after my first 2 days of training before I paid the money for insurance. Sure enough, all of the aforementioned people and companies are all over bad business and rip off reports all over the web, associated with words such as distrustful, shady, lying, not paying, scam, scam, scam.
I printed out reports of all this before the third day of training started and distributed it to the other people before they went in, in order to warn them. Boy, was she perturbed. At least I think I helped some people out that day and saved them some hard earned gas money and time. All in all, their product isn't revolutionary, they operate in a pyramid scheme, no one in the company can be trusted, and they are a SCAM. STAY AWAY.

Excellent Post
#8Consumer Suggestion
Fri, May 08, 2009
Your post was very detailed and right on. I can tell you paragraphs 1-9 are exactly what I experienced. Paragraph 11 is a true statement as well. There are a couple issues with this, but the main one is price. They want you to charge about $3,000 for a complete system. You can buy this same product for around $500 to $750 on Internet auctions sites and some retail sites/locations as well. You are told to practice on friends and family. They know you could sell maybe 1 or 2. If 10 people do this over a weekend, well do the math, it's a huge profit for a weeks work.
I was suspicious from the start, but things at work were slow, so figured what the heck, I'll check it out too. I am concerned. I filled out an application. I am watching very, very closley. I have names and photos of everyone I came in contact with. I want to stress this: Nothing has happened. I will update this site, if anything else worth reporting happens.
There are many other similar reports on this site. The companies involved are affliated with Filter Queen and Health MOR. I encourage anyone considering working for these companies to READ and RESEARCH. Good luck to all.
