i bought a 6-cyl 1996 Jeep Cherokee back in 1996 or about 6K which I thought was ok factoring in 0% financing and they approve anybody with a job...well as it turns out it wasn't a 6-cyl... it wasa 4-cyl and with 2WD (that part i knew... but when he was pitching it to me...he ws pitching it as a 6-cyl car... of course when i signed the papewr work it said 4-cyl but in one small spot and i could barely even recognize it....

i even asked him to use a computer right IN FRONT OF HIM... to look up the blue book value of the car and he allowed me and WATCHED me put in a 6-cyl vehicle..the blue book price came in around where he was selling it for... so i bought it...

i called and tried to tell him my problem and he made no effort whatsoever to compensate for it...all he dd was show me the paperwork and basically say " you're $hit out of luck"... that was the main problem.... they also told me they were going to fix my center console and my windsheild wipers but that never happened.

then he tried to send the title to me after the car was paid off and i didn't get it for whatever reason and it was sent back to him...so i called and said can you send it again and he said " you have to send me $5 ".....!!! $5?? after you completely RIPPED ME OFF FOR A CAR!?!?!!?! he REFUSED to send me the title until i actually physicall signed a waiver form...

these guys are BAD BUSINESS...they rip people off all day long...they overprice their cars more than anyone else in the industry...they falsify what they do...they're all around horrible people to work with and as many would say they're "sheisters"...what makes them think that they can do that?? just because they work with people who have bad credit doesn't mean that they can just rip them off and take advantage of them...because people with bad credit are PEOPLE TOO!

I think 'Smoking' was the correct terminology

I think he actually was/is 'Smoking'... don't forget, the OP is complaining that he thought he was buying a 6 cyl but wound up with a 4... I guess when he lifted the hood, it was too confusing, or when he test drove the thing, he was too stoned to notice the lack of power?

None of this makes any sense at all.

You say you bought a "1996 Jeep Cherokee back in 1996" for about 6K. Now -- ten years later -- you complain that it was only a 4-cylinder and not a six. You say the dealer specializes in buyers with bad credit but they sold you a new vehicle at zero percent interest. My memory is not the greatest but I do not recall Jeep Cherokees -- even 4-cylinders -- selling for $6000 in 1996.

Either you got one smoking good deal ten years ago or some of your facts are screwy.
