On December 22, 2005 I went to the Green County Animal Control and I decided to adopt a feline. The man that helped me told me that they have one Feline that was seen by the vetinarian and was able to be adopted. So I asked him if the feline was in good health and if the feline had all of it's vaccinations. The man told me yes. So I then asked the man exactly how much the adoption would cost. The man told me thirty dollars, ten dollars for the vetiniarian that he was seen by and twenty dollars for the nueter.

So I agreed to the cost and we began to fill out paper work. After the paper work the man got the feline and took it to my car.

Well after I got the feline home i started to notice that it was not acting right and the feline's eyes had a discharge and it's ears had a very unpleasant oder.

So then I took the feline to Banfield animal hospital. They told me that the feline had a severe upper respiratory infection, a very high fever, and a severe bacteria build up.

The vetiniarian at banfield treated the feline with a good deal of medications. I just wanted to know if there is a way to get reembersed formy money.

I would think your chance of getting your money back is slim.

Didn't you examine the cat and hold and pet it before adopting?

Is this a county run shelter or a private one?

If it is county run, go thru channels to see about returning the cat or being reimbursed for the vet bills. Did you get a health certificate signed by the shelter vet?

I'm sorry your kitty was ill and I hope it is doing fine now.
