I'm very glad for this site because this is where I learned about Green Dot and took the necessary steps to getting a refund. I read about one guy who waited too long to get his money back that is why I jumped on this immediately. First I contacted my state Attorney Gereral and the Federal Trade Commission and filed complaints with them concerning Green Dot and they advised me to send Green Dot certified mail asking for a resolution. If you send them letters by certified mail they HAVE to respond to you. Prior to this I sent them letters by regular mail and had a representative contact me telling me they would send me a merchant dispute form,which they never did and I waited two weeks for this merchant dispute form. I then came here and learned about Green Dot and took the steps mentioned above. The final insult from Green Dot came after they sent me my refund,they said I never submitted a merchant dispute form (which they never sent me) and that they tried to contact me "numerous times" (another untruth),for if they had they should have contacted the people who send out Green Dot's privacy notices because I received one via snail mail. They also claim to have taken out $4.84 for "overdraft fee" even though I stopped using the card in June but anyway I figured it out and the refund came out to what I had coming back to me plus the cost of the certified letter so it's not that bad,I got my money back. I guess the $4.84 was just their way of being jerks about it.
